Many Christians have bought into the lie that we are worthy of God's love only when our lives are going well. If our families are happy or our jobs are meaningful, life is a success. But when life begins to fall through the cracks and embarrassing sins threaten to reveal our less-than-perfect identity, we scramble to keep up a good front to present to the world - and God. We cower and hide until we can rearrange the mask of perfection and look good again.
Sadly, it is then that we wonder why we lack intimate relationships and a passionate faith. Yes all this time God is calling us to take the mask off and come openly to Him. God longs for us to know in the depth of our being that He loves us and accepts us as we are. When we are true selves, we can finally claim our identity as God's child - Abba's child - and experience His pleasure in who we are.
Brennan Manning encourages readers to let go of the imposter lifestyle and freely accept our belovedness as a child of the heavenly Father. In Him there is life, our passion is rekindled, and our union with Him is His greatest pleasure.

This is all encompassing! You are Loved and Liked by God! Unconditional, Infinite Love!
A must listen or read that's all I can say. This book uncovered so many answers to questions I've been longing for
The many Complex concepts were sometimes difficult to grasp at the standard reading speed!
I sometimes played the recording at .75 speed; which gave a reverberating and significant effect.
I was pleased at the concept of being a beloved child of God.!
And the many implications which that included.
This book was recommended to me by a counselor to me. It's a beautiful read, and for me personally Manning has taught me a lot, about how I look at myself, and how I look at others.
A lovely insight into the heart of Christ, and what it means to be a Christian. Also insightful for those who suffer from depression, or self loathing, low self esteem. A worthwhile read, or listen. Narrator does a wonderful job.
I would recommend this book to anyone that really fully needs to understand the love of the Father. So, everyone.
The transparency of Brennan Manning is just wonderful. He is absolutely unafraid of touching on the things closest to Jesus' heart.
If the Christian community would read this book and take it to heart. The world would be an entirely different place. These writings have changed my life. Praise God for this book.
Our dear brother Brennan challenges us--even dares us--to allow ourselves to choose the "yes!" when our hearts ask the question, "Do You love me?"
What the mind cannot conceive, the heart can still embrace.
I loved this book, but unfortunately the narrator was bad. It made me take way too long to listen to this book and often lead to me getting distracted.
