With The Teachings of Don Juan, Carlos Castaneda chronicled a journey toward enlightenment under the tutelage of Yaqui Indian guru don Juan. Having sold more than eight million copies of his books around the world, Castaneda has inspired countless readers with his awareness-expanding experiences. After spending five years with Don Juan in the early 60s, Castaneda returned to Mexico in 1968 to continue his exploration of non-ordinary reality and draw ever closer to his ultimate goal of becoming a man of knowledge. Far from Western civilization, Don Juan and his world of hallucinogenic drugs offer insight and inducements toward true awakening—wisdom that Castaneda passes on in this astounding work.

The 3 Castaneda books available have to be my favorite series ever. I've listened to each 3 times now.
The fluidity of lessons.
The conquering of Carlos' internal fears when he decides to reinstate his apprenticeship.
Best series I've encountered.
Luis Moreno is a very good, engrossing narrator for the Castaneda books. Of course, it can't hurt that I am totally enthralled by the story and experiences portrayed.
Yes, more laughter than tears but there were experiences at both extremes.
This is a very powerful story and while I disagree, some extreme religious readers may find too much issue with the perspective portrayed to get the real meaning and truth behind the story.
I'd read the Castaneda books multiple times in college, and knew the reading would have to be very special to preserve the beauty and integrity of Don Juan's words. Moreno is pitch perfect.
The story is very well written and the narrator is really good, changing voices according to the characters makes it incredible fun and addictive. I highly recommend it.
About the book is full of information and great insights.
This was wonderfully done and I would love it if Audio would obtain other audio books by Casteneda and read by Luis Moreno. I would especially like to see "Tales of Power" and The Power of Silence."
Carlos Castaneda is a masterful storyteller and Luis Moreno was a great choice to read his works.
A necessary follow on from the first book. Lots of food for thought. There weren't as many messages as in teachings. But those that there were, are a total mind shifter.
What a wonderful insightful book! I can't believe that I'm just now reading this. I'm sure I'll read it again.
I have been reading the books for 40 years, and they always seem fresh and new to me. The narrator did a fine job here.
The core of reality within the unreality.
He's a fine voice actor.
Yes, if i could have.
I would purchase the rest of the series if it became available.
I've read this book, and most of the series more than one time, so I know these personalities well. The voice and Manner of Don Juan is all wrong. I had to struggle to even listen to it, though I love the written book. The others are ok, but I hope someone else will choose to read this in the future.
The knowledge Don Juan shares with Carlos is beyond the normal society's terms of practical. It is a way to become eternally conscious and truly see... I feel proudly blessed to have come across this information and know it's wisdom will endure eternity.
"Excellent all round"
The story was gripping - one wanted to know always what was going to happen next...
when Carlos began to understand towards the end what it means to be a sorcerer and becoming aware of his powers - his opening towards this knowledge.
I would highly recommend.. i found it very helpful to go over sections again few times to understand - it helped me to let go of my thoughts and I felt on a similar path to Carlos at times even though I don't take the psychotropic drugs, that was what i found fascinating
