God has provided a way for all people, not just scholars, to know that the Bible is the word of God. John Piper has devoted his life to showing us that the glory of God is the object of the soul's happiness. Now, his burden in this book is to demonstrate that this same glory is the ground of the mind's certainty.
God's peculiar glory shines through his word. The spirit of God enlightens the eyes of our hearts. And in one self-authenticating sight, our minds are sure, and our hearts are satisfied. Justified certainty and solid joy meet in the peculiar glory of God.

Maybe other listeners are enjoying this reading just fine, but to my ear, the narrator seems to have an edge to his voice, as if the text is his side of an argument that is starting to irritate him. I don't sense any affinity for the content or for John Piper's voice. If the audiobook were the only way to read it, I would stick with it, but since an ebook is available I am going to switch to it.
I truly appreciate the work and prayer put into this book. I learned a great deal about our Lord, His Word, His Church and His Glory! I am excited about Part 2!
I was expecting a more scholarly approach and was therefore, initially, disappointed... but I was quite satisfied by the time I finished... the concept I found most intriguing was the insight on the necessity of "trading of the glorification of oneself to the glorification of God" and it's resulting ramifications... I'm glad I read this book and look forward to Volume 2... I might suggest a book description which is more reflective of the main thrust of its objective...
I was thoroughly encouraged by this book, I think you will enjoy it too! It was a delight to listen to, I'm looking forward doing it again.
