Publisher's summary

Relentless Pursuit is the freshest Bolitho novel in years, with Adam spending as much time engaging British enemies in the 46-gun frigate Unrivalled as he does contemplating the complex morality of the duties he must perform. Sent to Sierra Leone, Adam and his powerful ship add strength to the British squadron attempting to halt the slave trade. Aggravating this volatile situation is the Dey of Algiers, looking for total war. For Adam, the threats at present do not weigh as heavily on his mind as his own loneliness and grief over his dead uncle. But he must come to terms with his emotions, for a reckless assault on a massive stronghold is about to be launched. This is a sweeping adventure for the reader who demands more than the simple, visceral pleasures of blazing action.

After Sir Ricahrd, the story seems redundant.

The series was exciting through the eyes of Richard Bolotho from the begining, even with the missing Audible volumes. At least you could follow the story. But after his sudden and anti climatic death, I felt the saga became redundant and flat. I may be that there are so many holes between this and the last of the series covering Adam's exploits that Adams life is a bit hard to follow from this point on. I would suggest ending the story with the end of Sir Ricahards life. At least until the missing volumes are filled in. That is unless you wish to read the written text of the missing volumes.

Cerebral Kent

Cerebral narrative on a detailed scale for Kent. He gets into all the protagonists minds and feelings. Does not lack action and mayhem but there is subterfuge and treachery as well.

Good but....

Have listened to several of Mr Kent's sailing adventures & have enjoyed them...! However this was NOT one of his better efforts. Maybe it was the reader but NOT necessarily the main reason for my lower rating.

It seemed to me that there was a great deal of jumping from character to character --- that left me a bit confused time after time...!

Could be due my advanced age --- 77 !?
