The plot is fast paced, the narrators are engaging, and the story is an excellent addition to Lu's popular dystopian works." (AudioFile magazine)

Respect the Legend. Idolize the Prodigy. Celebrate the Champion. But never underestimate the Rebel.

With unmatched suspense and her signature cinematic storytelling, number one New York Times best-selling author Marie Lu plunges listeners back into the unforgettable world of Legend for a truly grand finale.

Eden Wing has been living in his brother’s shadow for years. Even though he’s a top student at his academy in Ross City, Antarctica, and a brilliant inventor, most people know him only as Daniel Wing’s little brother.

A decade ago, Daniel was known as Day, the boy from the streets who led a revolution that saved the Republic of America. But Day is no longer the same young man who was once a national hero. These days he’d rather hide out from the world and leave his past behind. All that matters to him now is keeping Eden safe - even if that also means giving up June, the great love of Daniel’s life.

As the two brothers struggle to accept who they’ve each become since their time in the Republic, a new danger creeps into the distance that’s grown between them. Eden soon finds himself drawn so far into Ross City’s dark side, even his legendary brother can’t save him. At least not on his own...

Great story, weird narrative choice?

I love this series and highly recommend the book! My problem is: why was a black voice chosen for Eden? He’s described in the series as blond and blue-eyed! It’s just so jarring to hear such a disconnect with that description. For what it’s worth, that narrator does a great job, but it just feels inappropriate for the story.

At last

The perfect end to a wonderful book series. Well worth the wait. The performance was a fantastic compliment to the text itself.

AMAZING 😍

This volume is exactly what this story needed! I loved the initial story of Day and June but I felt like there was no closer. This book closes every open end that Champion left open. in the most perfect way!

¡Increíble como siempre! - Amazing as always!

-----
This chapter of the Legend Saga is as good as the others, the story is narrated from the perspective of different characters, like in previous books. Characters only get better and although I wish I had more of some, it is not bad. The pace is great with no forced expositions and the dept of new characters is rich as it has been in previous titles.
It's a rollercoaster of emotions, the perfect mix of action, character development and romance and the voices and interpretation of the narratiors is on point,
I really enjoyed it!

Perfect ending

I was pretty mad at the 3rd book and the way it ended. The beginning of this one also had me high key heated. I wish there hadn’t been a huge 10 year gap btwn Daniel and June, but I guess it all worked out in the end. This has been one of my absolute favorite series, despite the heartache in the middle.

Good Ending To a Great Series

As the title says I thought this was a very good ending to an amazing series. As not to go into to much detail, I will only say my single gripe.

I understand why there is only the POV of Day and Eden, since this is really their story, however I do wish that June was sprinkled in there whenever it was her and Day. I always enjoyed hearing her thought process about why she kept a certain amount of distance from Day. With this it would’ve been amazing to hear her thoughts and feelings about them in this book.

Although that didn’t happen I still very much so enjoyed this book and the series! Very good way to end it after such a heartbreaking ending in the last book. I will be listening to it all again.

The voice actor's just black

Please don't be put off by reviews saying Eden's voice is wrong. Lol, the voice actor is just clearly Black and people can't accept that apparently. Sorry to racism, but he does a GREAT job and is extremely engaging! And Marie concluded this series with another action packed, amazing story. Read this, preorder The Kingdom of Back, and enjoy!

Happy Black History Month!
