Another Enjoyable Listen!

This second book in the Lighthouse Security Investigations series was another enjoyable listen. There wasn’t quite the suspense as the first one as we knew who the bad guys were, however finding them was exciting. Helena literally fell onto Rank while escaping unwanted attentions in a restaurant. Unfortunately she interrupted a meeting that ended up putting her in the middle of an investigation and in danger. This story was entertaining and I enjoyed the romance between Helena and Rank. Adam Gold once again did a great job with all the voices and emotions in the story. Hopefully it won’t be too long before the next book is available on Audible.

Loved it and the story line. The characters were strong and well rounded. It flowed like a gangster crime movie that I would watch on TV.

Could not finish

I could not tolerate the short staccato sentences especially when too much of the story was just descriptive sex. I also did not like either of the leading characters. Not my style.

This narrators short clipped sentences kills me

I want to like the narrator. His character voices are well done so I know the short clipped sentences and the anger it causes while listening to the story isn’t all on him. There must be a director or editor that felt this was the way to go. It wasn’t. It’s terrible. However, I just laugh now bc I like the easy nature of the books. But man, it’s so distracting.
That being said, I like the story line and the characters so I’ll keep listening.
