DNA contains all kinds of information, now we know it can even hold the binary code of digital files. Nick Goldman, a geneticist for the UK Bioinformatics Institute, has encoded all 154 of Shakespeare's sonnets, portions of Martin Luther King Jr.'s “I Have A Dream Speech", and a photo of his institution into DNA fragments. He and Bob discuss his research and its possibilities.
Then, Oscar winner, author, and illustrator Shaun Tan takes readers through his artistic process in his book The Bird King: An Artist’s Notebook. Tan is the author and illustrator of the best-sellers Tales from Outer Suburbia and The Arrival, and in 2011 received the prestigious Astrid Lindgren Memorial Award.
