Its hard to contemplate exactly how this audio oddity ended up on a paying website for audio books. What you are about to listen to, if you fail to heed my warning, is an hour of audio taken from what was clearly a video documentary of Herring and his troupe of unpaid actors writing and rehearsing a play in Fiji. This recording contains such notable moments as the half-sided reproductions of uninteresting telephone conversations, "look at this!" moments rendered underwhelming by the accompanying soundtrack.. Listening to this $10.62 track was honestly about as interesting as spending an hour on phone to a mobile in somebody's bag.
It goes without saying that I am a fan of Richard Herring and it pains me to write this, although only slightly. This recording belongs in the free downloads section of the authors website. An article of esoteric curiosity, interesting only those dissatisfied with anything other than total access to everything the great man has ever created. Richard Herring has produced some excellent diary/documentary productions for radio such as 'How David Hasselhoff Brought Down The Wall,' but this is not one of them.
Please delete this mess from Audible Rich. Delete it and add the full version of your novel 'How not to grow up'. Unless it's only here for the one star reviews and you're feeding off them for your own deviant purposes. If that is the case, you can have this one on me.
Herring has penned some top-notch comedy in his time, with some first-rate stand up, podcasts, and TV series under his belt. This is nothing like those. I wouldn't have bothered with this, if I were him.
