Wonderful retelling of the story of Henry II and his four sons. Thought that Mike Walker's play was excellent and absolutely fascinating. So glad I got it.
"A 'must have' for fans of historical drama."
First of an excellent trilogy. If you like this series then try Vivat Rex narrated by the late great Richard Burton.
"A pleasant way to while away a few hours"
What i best liked was, the accuracy of the mentioned events. The richness of the sound effects.
Mike Walker could have made better use of Isabella of Angouleme, Her youth and the fact that as soon as John snuffed it, she ran back to France
If this was film i would cas tMeryl Streep as Queen Eleanor, Robert Bathurst as King Henry, Aneurin Barnard as Henry the young king, Henry Cavil as Richard the Lionheart, Ben Lamb as John, James Frain as Earl Marshal, Faye Marsey as Isabella of Angouleme
