Frontline: Reporting from the World's Deadliest Places

Remember turning on the television and seeing shots of rockets fired at night in the first Gulf War, the first massacre victims in Kosovo, the US bomb that killed women and children in a bunker in Baghdad, and Mullah Omar declaring holy war for the Taliban? The men and women at the Frontline news agency believed the public should see the true horrors of war and courageously went where other news organisations feared to tread. Risking everything to show the truth, they travelled the world’s most dangerous places in a quest to live life to the full, a quest some paid for with their lives. This is their story.

    "Extreme journalism"

A good first account history of wartime journalism. Reader will meet unique characters telling unbelievable stories.

The book also tells how journalism have changed as technique (cameras etc.) evolve - interesting.

    Overall
    "Engaging and thought provoking."

This is a great look at what has often been behind the images you have seen on your televisions. Often gripping and entertaining but also honest enough to give you pause to think what some of the reporters and photo journalists have had to endure to "get the story".

No spoilers but if you have any interest in current affairs, reporting or even a keen photographer (of any genre), you might find this appealing to you.
