Since he debuted in 1979 with My Aim is True, Costello has been one of the most prolific and influential rock acts. His music has been praised for the wit and intelligence of his lyrics, and the inventiveness of the music. Musicians Burt Bachrach and Elvis Costello talk about their collaborative album, Painted From Memory. Singer and musician David Johansen was the lead singer for the 70's pre-punk punk rock band New York Dolls. Later he performed as Buster Poindexter, a pompadour tuxedo wearing lounge lizard swing bandleader of the band "Banshees in Blue."
