Publisher's summary
Anyone looking to let off some steam is bound to find something to love in Cabin Pressure. The combination of snappy repartee and brilliant voice-acting makes this a side-achingly funny experience from start to finish.
Stephanie Cole ("Doc Martin"), Benedict Cumberbatch and Roger Allam ("The Thick Of It") star in the complete first series of the hit sitcom about the pilots of a tiny charter airline for whom no job is too small, but many, many jobs are too difficult. Written by John Finnemore, writer for The News Quiz, and That Mitchell & Webb Sound.
Run by the forbidding divorcée Carolyn Knapp-Shappey (an unfortunate marriage, namewise, but in Carolyn's opinion, marginally better than Carolyn Shappey-Knapp), her two pilots are the smooth, experienced and almost-certainly-fired-by-a-big-airline-for-all-round naughtiness Douglas, and struggling almost-competent pilot and sweaty man Martin. All-round help is provided by Carolyn's near-idiot son, Arthur....
Critic reviews
"Unexpectedly brilliant." - (Time Out)
"An inspired new sitcom." - (The Observer)
"The more I listen to John Finnemore's Cabin Pressure, the more I think what a stonking masterpiece it is. Perfect in every department." (Philip Pullman)

Story
The very strange but nevertheless true story of the dark underbelly of a 1960s hippie utopia. Laurel Canyon in the 1960s and early 1970s was a magical place where a dizzying array of musical artists congregated to create much of the music that provided the soundtrack to those turbulent times. But there was a dark side to that scene as well. Many didn't make it out alive, and many of those deaths remain shrouded in mystery to this day.

Story
At last, the definitive audiobook about perhaps the best cabin crew dramedy ever filmed: View from the Top starring Gwyneth Paltrow. In Ayoade on Top, Richard Ayoade, perhaps one of the most 'insubstantial' people of our age, takes us on a journey from Peckham to Paris by way of Nevada and other places we don't care about. It's a journey deep within, in a way that's respectful and non-invasive; a journey for which we will all pay a heavy price, even if you've waited for the smaller paperback edition. Ayoade argues for the canonisation of this brutal masterpiece.

No one other than Warren Zanes, rocker and writer and friend, could author a book about Tom Petty that is as honest and evocative of Petty's music and the remarkable rock and roll history he and his band helped to write. Born in Gainesville, Florida, with more than a little hillbilly in his blood, Tom Petty was a Southern shit kicker, a kid without a whole lot of promise. Rock and roll made it otherwise.

Benedict Cumberbatch and Louise Brealey read a love story in letters, played out against the backdrop of the Second World War. 'Can you feel, as you read these words, that I am thinking of you now; aglow, alive, alert at the thought that you are in the same world, and by some strange chance loving me.' A small blue box opened in 2008 revealed a wartime world of love, longing and frustration. Inside were bundles and bundles of letters written neatly on thin blue airmail paper or headed army notepaper.

Love, Love, Love
What made the experience of listening to Cabin Pressure the most enjoyable?
The cast is absolutely superb and the whole thing is just terrific. Brilliantly written and original. Hilarious!
What did you like best about this story?
The fact that so much hilarity can come about with such a small cast and the background concept of a small private airline.
Any additional comments?
Cabin pressure is comedy gold, I'm so glad to find it on audible and will be looking out for more radio 4 gems. I listened to these on planes and found it very hard not to burst into fits of laughter in public!

Laugh out loud
Do not listen to this in a public place with headphones on. I guarantee you will be seen as that crazy person standing by yourself laughing out loud. I can’t say enough about the entire Cabin Pressure series. You just have to experience it for yourself. You will grow to absolutely adore all of these characters.

If you could sum up Cabin Pressure in three words, what would they be?

So much fun!
Would you consider the audio edition of Cabin Pressure to be better than the print version?
There is no print version so... yeah
Who was your favorite character and why?
Why must I only choose one?! They are all so wonderful! Ok... if I have to choose I'll choose Martin because he tries so hard to be taken seriously and he's just undermined and twisted in hilarious knots.. also it's Benedict Cumberbatch.
What does the narrators bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?
Again no print version. The comedic timing of these wonderful actors is brilliant and that would probably be lacking in a print version and the jokes may not have played as well in a book.
Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?
I definitely listened to this in one sitting. May have gotten strange looks from people sitting near me as I tried to stifle giggles.
Any additional comments?
Will be buying the remaining seasons as soon as possible. So funny. Highly recommend this.

Delightful!
Cabin Pressure is a radio play set aboard a chartered plane and it's simply delightful. I admit I did first get this one because of Benedict Cumberbatch, but as I listened I found myself really enjoying what each of the actors brings to this hilarious play.
It was side-splitting funny as you listen and watch while they get themselves into messes and have to figure out how to get themselves out.
I listened to this one at work and I had to pause several times to catch my breathe because I was laughing too hard.
If you like british comedy I highly recommend this one.

You have to get this
The show is hilarious and very well put together. After only 8 minutes of ep 1 I was hooked. I can't wait to listen to the other 3 series.

Situational humor, my favorite!
What made the experience of listening to Cabin Pressure the most enjoyable?
Brilliantly timed comedy, well written and well played. Clean humor as well, which is always appreciated.
