A heartening romance of friendship, second chances, and the healing power of love....

Mackenzie Hart has made a career out of writing about eternal love, so when she finds her perfect match in Hunter Kane, she decides to put it all on the line. Irresistibly charming and drenched in alpha-male swagger, Hunter isn’t just the catch of the town - he’s Mackenzie’s best friend. Only someone beats her to the altar. After a fresh start and three years to recover, the last thing Mackenzie expects is for her old life to come knocking....

Recently divorced, musician Hunter Kane wants to reconnect with the woman he left behind. Admitting his biggest mistake comes first. What comes next is up to Mackenzie. He hopes she’ll give him a second chance. He may have been the one to break her heart, but he knows he can also be the one to mend it.

As a tenuous friendship turns into something more, Hunter’s life on the road beckons once again. Will love be enough to keep them together, or will their wildly different worlds be too much for them to overcome?

Promise Me You

This is an emotional book, a second chance book between friends turned to lovers. Mackenzie has always loved Hunter who was the lead of the band and she was his song writing partner. When she suddenly disappeared after his engagement party he didn't know what to do. Now after a divorce he is floundering and lost when it comes to songs for the band. He found songs he likes but he will not use them because he wants to meet the songwriter. Turns out it is Mac and now she is blind and doesn't want him to know. Will they survive this and their friendship turn to more? This one was so good!

Love is blind, but rewarding

Really enjoyed this story of a woman with a scary disability who finds the balance between love and independence with the love of her life.

Promise Me You by Marina Adair

Promise Me You by Marina Adair

Contemporary romance of Nashville singer and the woman who writes award winning music for his band.

I liked that the hero finally looked at the heroine’s blindness from her perspective rather than what he wanted to do for her. It took a while, but he got there. Points for that. But that he didn’t understand why she left the band when he got married is just dense.
The audio version was done in a southern twang that I did not care for, although it fit the whole Country music in Nashville theme. The narrator did a good job with emotions.

3.5 Happily ever after.
I would have liked to hear the award winning music.

Nope.

The narrator does not match the main character at all in my opinion. I got through 11 minutes before I gave up. I'm sure the story is fine, so might just read it myself on my kindle.

DNF, narrator is awful

The narrator ruined this for me. I could not finish the book due to her voice and the way she pronounces words. I am really glad this was a free listen with Kindle Unlimited.
