Publisher's summary

The runaway best seller The Millionaire Next Door told us who America's wealthy really are. The Millionaire Mind tells how they got there, and how to become one of them. In this audio program, you'll discover the surprising answers to questions such as: what success factors made them wealthy in one generation; what part did luck and school grades play; how do they find the courage to take financial risks; how did they find their ideal vocations; what are their spouses like and how did they choose them; how do they run their households; how do they buy and sell their homes; and what are their favorite leisure activities. To become a millionaire you have to think like one. The Millionaire Mind tells you how.

Good but can't beat The Millionaire Next Door

The Millionaire Next Door is my favorite book of all time. While I enjoyed this followup to it, it was not as profound as the original. It seemed to focus on multimillionaire behavior rather than millionaire behavior which I couldn't relate to as well and seemed very far out of reach. Cotter Smith's performance was excellent.

STAY POOR by OPPOSING everything in this book!

I wish I read this book when I was sixteen or at least I wish I had listened to my parents ;) !

If you plan to be rich in the future then make sure you read this today!

This book is a product of intensive research on more than 700 affluent millionaires in America. The author has intensive experience in the field as it is his life's long work. He is very insightful and shares so many insights, such as:

How they made their money and how they invest it? Do they own so much stuff?
What were their academic performance in high school and college?
Who do they marry, do they have kids?
How much do they spend for leisure and what are their priorities in life?

You would be surprised to know the answers because having a millionaire mindset is not what you see in Hollywood, but a rather more meaningful lifestyle.

Great companion book for the millionaire next door

I liked this book but, it wasn't as eye opening as the millionaire next door but I believe it's a good companion book to it. I would recommend reading that book first and then read this one to understand the mindset.

Good read, but a little dated...

I liked Dr. Stanley’s Millionaire Next Door, so I decided to read this work as well. I think parts are fascinating, but he gets a little too far in the weeds when he talks about buying habits with regard to shoes and furniture.

I want everyone I know to listen to this book.

The title, although perfectly accurate, may make many people take a pass on it because they wouldn't want to read a book about millionaires. However, this book isn't so much about millionaires as it is about people. Very ordinary people who share similar traits that eventually and after many years of applying these traits, results in an accumulation of true wealth.
Extremely well researched and written. It is not written about dry and boring statistics, but filled with stories of people with similar traits that are gleaned from a lifetime of research and data gathering.
Cotter's narration is engaging and entertaining. No disappointments. Cotter delivers and makes the book even better.

Long but worth the effort

Principles taught are not entirely unique to this genre. The science behind it is. By surveying millionaires, a formula appears for success.
