Publisher's summary

It is the late autumn of 1942. Our indomitable heroine Poppy Redfern is thoroughly immersed in her new job as a scriptwriter at the London Crown Film Unit, which produces short films featuring British civilians who perform acts of valor and heroism in wartime. After weeks of typing copy and sharpening pencils, Poppy is thrilled to receive her first solo script project: a 15-minute film about the Air Transport Auxiliary, known as Attagirls, a group of female civilians who have been trained to pilot planes from factories to military airfields all over Britain.

Poppy could not be more excited to spend time with these amazing ladies, but she never expects to see one of the best pilots die in what is being labeled an accident. When another Attagirl meets a similar fate, Poppy and her American fighter-pilot boyfriend, Griff, believe foul play may be at work. They soon realize that a murderer with a desire for revenge is dead set on grounding the Attagirls for good....

Excellent mystery for WWII history lovers

I heartily enjoyed this fascinating mystery set in WWII, with a light touch of romance. Top notch performance and an enjoyable escape from real life.

What Can I Say, I loved it.

Poppy is on her first writing assignment for the British Government's Ministry of Information Crown Film Unit. As they are filming the female pilots of the Air Transport Auxiliary one of the planes crashes in an apparent accident. But when there is yet another unexplained crash Poppy senses, they were no accident. Along with Griff and her dog Bess, Poppy unravels the who done it. I can’t wait the Poppy’s next adventure.

Still good, but...

Good story, but the romance between Poppy and Griff is starting to irritate. They need to get together soon otherwise keeping them apart will become too contrived.

Poppy doesn’t disappoint

The second Poppy Redfern mystery givers readers a great background in WWII women pilots, great murder mystery & frustratingly fun romance. Lots of fun to listen to.
