Follows the movie perfectly, a true treat to listen to. My teen and I really enjoyed it.

Fantastic Bedtime Adventure.

Love it so much, I listened to it three times in a week already. Story and performance are aces. I can’t wait to hear the next adventure.

Great companion novel to the film.

This is a great companion novel to the film. It tells the story perfectly. I am a blind listener, and since the film does not have description on the DVD, I love to listen to the novel, and discover things I have missed as far as scenery is concerned, and the fights between the pirates. Also to note, Is the description of the pirates themselves.

Had I never watched the movie It would be great.

Many of the quotes and turn of phrases are left out which give many of the characters their flare in the movie itself. So I found myself paying more attention to what was missing from the story of the movie and couldn’t pay attention to the story of the book, along with the dullness of the narrator I couldn’t bring myself to finish it.

Exactly Like the Movie

I was a little disappointed in this book because I was expecting a twist to the original story from the movie. However, it was not and it was exactly like the movie. Don't get me wrong, I absolutely love the movie but I was hoping for something a bit different. What I did appreciate, was the detailed depictions of the characters and how they were feeling during intense moments. Simon Vance did a good job at narrating the book and giving each character their own voice. This book is more for kids than adults but still a good read if you want to listen to the movie rather than watch it.
