Publisher's summary

James Daniel’s is from a privileged background. People may look at him and think he has it all, good looks and a great job. Yet he belongs to another reality beyond Earth called "the magical realm". Here, his true identity as a man who is part Morph and half vampire is truly known.

Perfect Powers tells the tale of James falling in love with Eliza - a quiet and shy woman who is studying a master’s degree in art. She is not his typical type, yet there is something about her he just adores. What seems like the perfect romance, has too many secrets and lies. James feels he has to hide his truth from Eliza, because if she knew about the monster behind the man she loved, how could she look him in the eye?

Perfect Powers is a romance fantasy novella with many unexpected twists and turns.

Great storyline

I enjoyed the storyline but really wish there were more sotry rather than jumping to future times. I feel it would have given more insight into the main characters and their interactions. Otherwise, good listen. Great narration and would like more from this author.

Interesting Story

The narrator is so smooth and charming that I had a hard time trying to figure out where Dr Jekyll ended and Mr Hyde began or if there was a Dr Jekyll at all?

Intriguing

I found it amazing on how the author came up with the concept of the ability to live in two different worlds. Each pausing as you stepped into the other. As time moved on for James and you learned how he lived, it was a wonder he had any friends at all. I'm curious how old he really was with the time passing in both worlds and the education he received from both sides. Not surprised he couldn't keep his love as he kept secrets from her and she really was smart. I am glad they came to a sort of compromise, however, there seemed there could have been more by the way this story ended. I still rather enjoyed it

The narrator did an amazing job himself. I enjoyed how he was able to depict each character rather well. however, he sounded very much like Jude Law. I look forward to hearing more from this narrator.

Worth reading but probably not a second time.

I thought this story was alright. The plot was almost entirely centered around the characters relationship and not much else seemed to happen to them. but the characters were well written.
the narration was not my style it was calmer and did seem to me to express any stakes to the situations, it never felt like there was ever anything at risk.

A great story

A different type of vampire story. James Daniels had it all. good looks, a great job and he was from a wealthy family. He also belonged to another realm far beyond earth where his vampiric nature was let loose. At first he never killed, just drank enough to satisfy his hunger until he took a lover in this realm and then that changed. The pair would hunt & kill. Then while he was nout with a friend he met Eliza. She was a quiet shy woman. As he pursued her, he knew he would marry her but would he be anle to keep his vampiric nature from her? He decided he must because he was afraid Eliza would reject him if she found out.

Will Eliza discover the truth about James?

Perfect Powers: A Dark Fantasy Novella
by Meredith Tucker
narrated by Kelvin Witherspoon-Sudron

I received a complimentary audio copy and am voluntarily leaving a review.

James has it all: wealth, beautiful houses, whatever his heart desires, whenever he desires it. But there is more to James than meets the eye. He is an immortal, part Morph wolf and part vampire, dividing his time between a magical realm and the Earthly plane. Yes, James has everything he could want apart from the special someone to share his life with. Oh, he has women, no doubt about that, but when he meets Eliza one night, she changes his world. She is everything he imagined, intelligent, beautiful, and pure.

Eliza can’t believe her luck when she falls for James, who sweeps her off her feet and envelops her in a world of her wildest dreams, trips to remarkable places and extravagant gifts. But during their time together, as their love strengthens, Eliza is unaware of the dark side that James is keeping from her. Can she unravel his secret before it is too late?

This is an interesting read from Meredith Tucker. I first assumed James led a privileged life, but that underneath, he was a good guy. The deeper I fell into the story, I realised this was far from the truth! Eliza lived her life with James basically in ignorance. He hid his secret well, but I also think she was naïve in trusting him so deeply. I did like the book but I feel I could not engage with the characters. I listened to the audiobook narrated by Kelvin Witherspoon-Sudron who is a great narrator, but I felt he could have shown more intense emotion at certain moments.

Perfect Powers is a novella; I am interested to see what happens next as the book ends on an intriguing note.

Charming Family Saga of Morphing Vampire

Meredith Tucker presents us a charming short family saga of a genteel shape shifting vampire and his early adult life. This was my first book from this author, but I will be buying more. ...and this isn't even my preferred genre. (No graphic sex or violence.)Kelvin Witherspoon Sudron does an excellent job with a geographically fitting accent and professional story telling

Interesting Story

This paranormal book was good. I wish the ending was better. The narrator did a good job. The flow was adequate. I felt the main characters lacked depth.

Beautiful story

What an imagination this talented author, Meredith Tucker, bestows 👏 The fantasy takes you into a magical realm where witches, vampires, morphs, and much more creatures live among a hidden world. I enjoyed it so much that I didn't want it to end.
The narrator, Kelvin Witherspoon-Sudron, was brilliant. He brought this fantasy world and all the characters alive. If you love fantasy, shape-shifting creatures, and great storytelling, this is the one for you. BRAVO 👏

Fantasy read

Gifted audio in exchange for an honest review.
This audio was short and full of action and fantasy.

It has a fantasy world along side the actual world where no time moves when you enter the fantasy world.

The mmc is half evil and an overall morally gray character.
The fmc is naive to the fantasy world and very young at heart.

I wasn’t overly invested in the characters, I also am not 100% if this book is a stand alone or not. With the ending as it is guessing it is.
