Publisher's summary

Bella Jones and Kathleen Collins are as close as sisters and that's how they want things to stay.

But fate intervenes. Kathleen's brothers have disappeared; they traveled from New York on the Orphan Train and nobody has heard from them since. She can't shed her gut feeling something awful has happened to them. She goes looking for them, but is she prepared for what she will find?

Twins Megan and Eileen Doyle have lost so much already. Bella can't let them travel on the Orphan Train alone. She must confront her fears and deal with her past. Can she keep the girls safe, or will they too fall victim to abuse?

Both Bella and Kathleen are tested in ways they never dreamed possible. Will justice prevail and allow both girls to get their happily ever after? Or is the cost simply too high?

Remarkable

This is absolutely a wonderful storyline that makes you think the author stepped back in time and truly witnessed this era. I love how it all came together. I love there is more of these novels, so, on to the next novel.

Enjoyable read

I found this to be a pleasant story. It was fairly predictable but I enjoyed the growth of the individual characters. The narration was a little tough- there were a number of children in the book and their baby nasally voices tended to carry through to the adults after awhile. I almost feel it would have been better to have more than one narrator when there are so many characters. When the narrator was just talking as an adult her voice was fine but again- this was lost in the jumble of children's voices as the book went on. But overall I enjoyed the book and would recommend it.

Clean, eventful, well written.

I enjoyed the narration as it was just the right pace and clearly spoken. The story was well written and had adventure as well as emotion. I hope to find more of these Orphan Train series!
