America's Fabulous Freelance Insurance Investigator faces cases of killing for vengeance and keeping silent for honor... "dead" men who won't stay down for long (or alive for much longer)... beneficiaries that can't be found and beautiful mixed up risk-takers who may be out on their last ledge. He pads his expense account in pursuit of stolen jewels, arsonists, crooked cops, and romance, all while he tries to solve matters of murder.
With a versatile voice that projects just the right air of tired world-weariness, leavened by just the right tone of compassion, and just the slightest edge of cynicism, Bob Bailey stars as Johnny Dollar in four half-hour episodes, seven 5-part serials, and one 6-part serial - 45 digitally restored and remastered episodes.

I love this radio show. It's radio-noir at it best. It has a lot violence and romance in it. Dollar like all hard boiled detectives is tough, but with a heart of gold, always willing to help people. He meets a lot of beautiful women he often romances. The show doesn't shy way of the fact that some of the women he meets, might be guilty of the crime he's investigating, and he might have to send to them jail, or they end up getting murderd. I never heard of Bob Bailey until I started to listen to this show, I think he's great. One more peace of trivia, the theme music is also used on Lloyed Briges TV show Sea hunt.
I am a proud Mexican woman that loves words and reading/listening to books. I also believe that only through knowledge can we achieve progress.
I love Boy Bailey's voice and greatly enjoyed all of these stories! It brings to mind what my mother used to put on the radio when we were kids. I LOVE it!

Most of the old timr rasio shows are great and bring back so many memories of my young years listening to them. They made your imagination work full time, and I just love heating them again.
