Editorial reviews

A fascinating short introduction to UFO sightings in America, from the 1947 case on Mount Rainier to the mysterious crash in Roswell, New Mexico, and the strange events reported at Area 51. Performer Luca James Lee ably conveys the bizarre nature of many of these stories without going over the top. He also discusses some of the government attempts to investigate UFO sightings. The dramatic music can distract from the narrative at times, but for the most part, it stays in the background. Overall, this is a useful entry point into the most famous reported cases of this controversial phenomena.

Publisher's summary

Learn about UFOs with iMinds insightful audio knowledge series. On 25 June 1947, Kenneth Arnold, a United States Forest Service employee and private pilot, witnessed nine Unidentified Flying Objects in the sky near Mount Rainier, Washington. This incident was to mark the beginning of a rapid increase in public interest in UFOs. Arnold, who at the time was searching for a downed transport plane, originally thought the objects he saw were jets. However, on closer inspection, he realized the objects had no tails and all but one looked like flat disks. He later described the objects as being similar to saucers skimming across the surface of the water. This description was repeated by a journalist when reporting the story and this is how the term "Flying Saucer" was coined.

While Arnold's UFO sighting is considered to be the beginning of the modern UFO phenomenon, it is by no means the first reported sighting of an unexplained flying object. In fact, the first recorded UFO sightings in the United States occurred between 1896 and 1897.

"I'm learning all sorts of stuff about stuff I didn't even know I didn't know. And it sticks. In a nutshell: wonderful." (Jonathon Margolis, Financial Times)

Since it's free, it's worth the price.

The length is only 8 minutes, and the voice sounds digital. There's not much information, so why bother when you can get the same info from Wikipedia.

Zero information. You would be better off Wikiped

An absolutely horrible book. Who writes this kind of garbage. It sounds like something that came out of a book mill with someone who is not interested in UFOs. Don't waste your money on this book it's not even really a book.

The production values in narration are great. However there is no real story here no insights nothing zero!

I had To give this book one star in order to write this review. There really should be a way to make the book selection star process negative stars I would've given it 10 negative stars because it is so horrible and obviously the person who wrote it had no interest in UFOs
