Publisher's summary

The World Peace Diet has been called one of the most important books of the 21st century: the foundation of a new society based on the truth of the interconnectedness of all life. It is the first book to make explicit the invisible connections between our meals and our broad range of problems -psychological, social, and spiritual, as well as health and environmental. It offers powerful ways we can all experience healing and peace and contribute to a positive transformation of human consciousness.

Life-changing

This book gave me a new perspective on human civilization and helped me realize how small decisions long ago have shaped our whole world today.

Will Tuttle is fabulous.

Read this to understand why "veganism" (really: a way of living without violence or cruelty) is not a deprivation, but rather a manifestation of love and awareness.

Important Book for All

Dr. Tuttle does an amazing job covering the broad range of issues related to the sociology and psychology behind a herding culture. He speaks of the abuse that animals go through for humans to eat them. He makes clear the ethical and spiritual reasons we as a culture should turn away from animal products and choose a plant based diet and cruelty free lifestyle.

World Peace is not just a bumper sticker

Will Tuttle is so thorough in this book in his topical research and insight. I thought he was going to be too new age for my taste, but I found his spiritual approach to be as palatable as his science and psychology. World Peace Diet gave me hope for the future!

Game changer!

This book is a game changer. Ranks in the top 5 books I have ever read for positive impact in my life and thoughts. It is filled with compassion and wisdom. Books like this one can change the world in a profound way if you are open to it. Even though I finished the book, it lives on inside of me. I think about it every day and with every food purchase I make and every bite I take.

This took me from veganism to radical veganism

Would you consider the audio edition of The World Peace Diet to be better than the print version?

N/A

What was the most compelling aspect of this narrative?

I once ate an average of 2-3 animal products (flesh or secretions) in every meal I ate, until I was guided to the truth of animal agriculture when I became life-long friends with a vegan marathoner and my now-wife who was raised vegetarian and together we became vegan. It took me four years to slowly taper back my consumption of animal parts, until finally eliminating the "option" permanently. Despite the past 6 years of life experience, comuning with animals, growing plants and perusing self-education, this book taught me the depth of the issue in our minds and our daily lives. I am afraid readers might write this off assuming that the author believes eliminating animal agriculture and enslavement will solve everything. To anyone who would interpret in this light, this book examines a root cause of the problems that are the symptoms of an illness. A head ache is terrible and so are the problems in this world, but let us treat the illness. After reading this I am dedicated to lovingly oppose this culture of commodifying and manipulating living things. Let's leave nature be and embrace it!

Enlightening book

Would you listen to The World Peace Diet again? Why?

I discovered The World Peace Diet in 2012. I had been vegetarian for a year and became vegan while listening to this book. The overall feeling was of coming home at last. I resonated with the ideas Will Tuttle presents, and I was also challenged by perspectives that I had never thought of. It is a thought-provoking and life-changing book.

What other book might you compare The World Peace Diet to and why?

Why We Love Dogs, Eat Pigs and Wear Cows, by Melanie Joy.

Any additional comments?

This book is read by the author, who is not a professional reader. You can sometimes feel it, but I much prefer his sensitive reading to someone who just does the job.
