I've been a Vegetarian for over 25 years and this wonderful book shed light on additional steps that I can take to make the world a better place and enhance my overall quality of life.
I loved it and thought that it is well written and thought – provoking, while at the same time, not disparaging those who “don’t get it” but hopefully enlightening them.
I’d highly recommend reading “The World Peace Diet” and wish that it was recommended reading in nutritional classes and schools throughout.
I’m going to be going Vegan at least 1 – 2 days a week for the rest of the year and start moving in that direction.
Informative, detailed, thought provoking. Makes it clear what you should do next. Recommended to anyone who wants a better understanding of how the releationship between food, our cultural, why we eat whay we eat and what our body really needs.
The readers voice is soothing...I might have fallen asleep if not for the content.
This book changed my thinking in ways I did not dream were possible. I have made what I once thought of as an impossible shift in diet and the benefits to my life are clear.
The whole book is beneficial.
The World Peace Diet was hard to listen to. Yes, there were times when I wanted to cry but I am grateful that I am able to be touched in this way.
I wish everyone could hear these words and think about what kind of world we want to live in. I know the world would become a better place.
I discovered The World Peace Diet in 2012. I had been vegetarian for a year and became vegan while listening to this book. The overall feeling was of coming home at last. I resonated with the ideas Will Tuttle presents, and I was also challenged by perspectives that I had never thought of. It is a thought-provoking and life-changing book.
Why We Love Dogs, Eat Pigs and Wear Cows, by Melanie Joy.
This book is read by the author, who is not a professional reader. You can sometimes feel it, but I much prefer his sensitive reading to someone who just does the job.
poignant, powerful, and piercing
The revelation that what you do unto others includes all others, not just humans
charismatic, caring, and compassionate
Yes, but it is too lengthy over 12 hours
This book gave me a new perspective on human civilization and helped me realize how small decisions long ago have shaped our whole world today.
Will Tuttle is fabulous.
Read this to understand why "veganism" (really: a way of living without violence or cruelty) is not a deprivation, but rather a manifestation of love and awareness.
Dr. Tuttle does an amazing job covering the broad range of issues related to the sociology and psychology behind a herding culture. He speaks of the abuse that animals go through for humans to eat them. He makes clear the ethical and spiritual reasons we as a culture should turn away from animal products and choose a plant based diet and cruelty free lifestyle.
it was easy to go through this book. it looks at every aspect of being or becoming a vegan and provides most information necessary to make the changes.
Being vegan I love books on the subject. But Will Tuttle's soft voice almost put me to sleep.
This is a great read if you want something soft and light and have read a lot on the topic.
I think I would suggest reading the book instead.
I really ended up liking this book although several times I thought I would stop listening to it as it has such graphic descriptions of how animals are treated. In the end it was very rewarding though. It made me see eating a vegan diet in a very different way.
"Tough going but really interesting"
This title is very tough going! It goes in to all the gory details of the meat industry from raising the animals to slaughter and packaging and you will need a strong stomach to get through the descriptions. However this is information everybody needs to know and it would shock anybody in to realising that we need to look after ourselves as well as the rest of the animal population in the world. I recommend this title for anyone looking to get healthy while also trying to help the environment.
