America the beautiful has become America the bizarre.
Government openly defies the law, Christians are prosecuted as criminals, children "transition" to the opposite sex, the president supports our enemies - and 130 million Americans depend on mind-altering substances just to get through life. Turbocharged by the Obama presidency, long-coalescing forces of the political and cultural Left are bringing about their much-heralded "fundamental transformation of America". That much everyone knows. But this revolution is also causing a fundamental transformation of Americans - in profoundly negative ways.
In The Snapping of the American Mind, veteran journalist and best-selling author David Kupelian shows how the progressive Left - which today dominates America's key institutions, from the news and entertainment media, to education, to government itself - is accomplishing much more than just enlarging government, redistributing wealth, and de-Christianizing the culture. With the Left's wild celebration of sexual anarchy, its intimidating culture of political correctness, and its incomprehension of the fundamental sacredness of human life, it is also, whether intentionally or not, promoting widespread dependency, debauchery, family breakdown, crime, corruption, addiction, despair, and suicide.
Surveying this growing chaos in American society, Kupelian exposes both the utopian revolutionaries and their extraordinary methods that have turned America's most cherished values literally upside down - to the point that madness is celebrated and normality demonized.

I'm a sixty six year old and I don't like to read. Maybe I should say that I never found the joy of reading. I really enjoy doing manual work. Finishing the task and knowing it's done correctly, and completing it in the shortest time.
Having someone narrate an entire book on my schedule was wonderful. I felt like I accomplished something.
I gave my life over to Jesus many years ago. Knowing that God is in control I was still wondering what happened to my beloved America.
Not only does this book explain the reason why America is in the 'pits of despair' but it also encourages me to continue 'to fight the good fight' God's way!
some of the views were biased and completely one sided but the facts and opinions were very informative and found myself agreeing to the majority of the book.
This book was an good reminder of the importance of political vigilance and the duties of all Americans to try and live moral lives and to stand for their beliefs, particularly in our modern culture. However, his views on psychiatry can be downright wrong. I have Asperger's Syndrome and I have had friends with genuine mental illness. His views almost border on Scientology or Christian Science on psychiatry and in treating all conditions. But overall, Kupelian does an amazing job at showing the problems of modern society and how we can be responsible in our own right for many addictions and how we can look at people with differing morals with compassion and empathy, not simply viewing them as enemies. The final flaw in the book are the last two chapters where the author tries to convince you his POV of God and forgiveness is the correct way. It would have been better to encourage listeners to seek God in their own ways rather than his way. But overall a really good book. And as Penn Jillette, an atheist (which I am not), said in Greg Gutfeld's book, it's boring to agree 100% with any author, because then I'm not being challenged in my thinking.
There's no question that the American mind and heart are experiencing pressures and aches like never before. Consciences are growing more seared and hearts hardened as the culture attempts to ease the pain with medication, deception and depravity. Kupelian offer some strong evidence that the American mind and heart are hopeless.
But as the grim prognosis is announced, Kupelian offers a a way of escape that is possible and optimistic - and eternal.
There is a way out of the mess we're in.
A must read for the disheartened that treasure traditional values and remain committed to leaving the next generation a world better than the one we inherited.
Thank you David Kupelian.
I agree with the general position in agreement with conservative values. But this book is just a shallow requote of fox news commentators. I mean that literally. I stopped about 30% into the book, because there was no insight beyond the author just re-quoting every left-bashing statement of people like Rush Limbaugh.
Certainly not. There are a lot of other insightful books. But an author has to be willing (in my opinion) to seriously treat the opposition as having something to say, he should do his/her own research, say something new or at least clarifying to justify my paying to hear.
Not to me. But would be if you like limbaugh and want to just hear more of that. I must clarify that Limbaugh is too over the top for me... more mudfight than engagement.
well written fact filled no nonsense no bs scarry but suggested solutions are included 5 star
