Publisher's summary

This much is true: You have been lied to.

  • The government is expanding.
  • Taxes are increasing.
  • More senseless wars are being planned.
  • Inflation is ballooning.
  • Our basic freedoms are disappearing.

The Founding Fathers didn't want any of this. In fact, they said so quite clearly in the Constitution of the United States of America. Unfortunately, that beautiful, ingenious, and revolutionary document is being ignored more and more in Washington. If we are to enjoy peace, freedom, and prosperity once again, we absolutely must return to the principles upon which America was founded. But finally, there is hope.

In The Revolution, Texas congressman and presidential candidate Ron Paul has exposed the core truths behind everything threatening America, from the real reasons behind the collapse of the dollar and the looming financial crisis, to terrorism and the loss of our precious civil liberties. In this book, Ron Paul provides answers to questions that few even dare to ask.

    Critic reviews

"This book takes a wrecking ball to the political establishment. Senator Goldwater would have loved it -it's The Conscience of a Conservative for the 21st century." (former Congressman Barry M. Goldwater, Jr.)

    The Most Legitimate Politician Ever!

Exceptional outline of problems and actions to fix them. Scholarly and practical at the same time with some good historical education. A must read for all who really care about the direction of society.

I wasnt a fan or cared much for Dr. Paul

I wasnt a fan or cared much for Dr. Paul, prior to a few weeks ago. I was mainly turned off by the cackle of his followers annoying second only to the followers of "The One". However now that the elections are behind us and the bail-outs and ever growing national debt and inflation before us, i had the time to properly digest Dr. Pauls book. The only thing i wish is that i had read this a few months prior to the election, or even a year or two before that. My approach would have been much different. I recommend this as a must read to everyone in the United States, everyone.

    Maybe I’m late

I’ve read several of his sons books and other notable libertarian and freedom economic thinkers before getting to this one. I found the content very boring and lacking a substantive base. I’ll rate it higher in the event that this is your first book. But I found that I took very little notes, where as in Rand Paul’s latest, “The Case Against Socialism,” I took close to 100 notes throughout maybe more.

    Concise explanation of his philosophy

If you've ever been curious about Rep. Paul's philosophy toward the various issues which face our nation, this book is a great place to start. Each issue is not treated at great length, but he treats each one in a concise, engaging way. The writing style is very personable. There were a couple of points at which the narrator may have failed to convey the author's exact sense, for example there were a couple of stark comparatives that were flatly delivered, but those issues are very few, and the narrator overall keeps the author's tone and inflection very well. I highly recommend this book both to those who would like to know more about Rep. Paul and to those who seek alternative positions from the standard party platforms that usually are presented in American discourse.

    Excellent food for thought

Whether you agree with all of his ideas or not, Ron Paul offers some excellent food for thought. Insightful and thorough. I would recommend this book to anyone who cares about the direction the country is heading.

    Great intro to Ron Paul

Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?

I think this is a great place to start getting to know why Ron Paul believes what he believes. He explains the logic behind the libertarian's mindset on society and free market. Highly recommended read.

    Interesting Read

What made the experience of listening to The Revolution the most enjoyable?

Good Summary of Ron Paul's views, however I wish there had been more actionable language about what he would do with education.

    A "Change" for the better.

This book showed me that there is still some people trying looking back to the Constitution and the proper role of government before writing laws in congress. That was very refreshing!
