Publisher's summary

This much is true: You have been lied to.

  • The government is expanding.
  • Taxes are increasing.
  • More senseless wars are being planned.
  • Inflation is ballooning.
  • Our basic freedoms are disappearing.

The Founding Fathers didn't want any of this. In fact, they said so quite clearly in the Constitution of the United States of America. Unfortunately, that beautiful, ingenious, and revolutionary document is being ignored more and more in Washington. If we are to enjoy peace, freedom, and prosperity once again, we absolutely must return to the principles upon which America was founded. But finally, there is hope.

In The Revolution, Texas congressman and presidential candidate Ron Paul has exposed the core truths behind everything threatening America, from the real reasons behind the collapse of the dollar and the looming financial crisis, to terrorism and the loss of our precious civil liberties. In this book, Ron Paul provides answers to questions that few even dare to ask.

    Critic reviews

"This book takes a wrecking ball to the political establishment. Senator Goldwater would have loved it -it's The Conscience of a Conservative for the 21st century." (former Congressman Barry M. Goldwater, Jr.)

    Worth your time

I am one of those people who seldom read current political stuff. The vitriolic nature of most current political commentary is more than I can take.

This book is different. Not an attack on any one person but what our system has become. If nothing else he asks all the questions we should ask ourselves. Ron Paul will challenge your political comfort zone no matter where it is.

It is often said that Ron Paul is a radical. I would agree. So were Washington, Jefferson, Franklin... Now that the Presidential "show" is over do yourself a favor and read something with some meat. I do not agree on every issue but I admit his views are well thought out. You will probably even learn some history along the way, not a bad thing.

I would like to think that a man like this could be elected president some day. After witnessing the Campaign of 08 I no longer think a decent, intelligent, thinking man like Ron Paul has a snowball's chance in hell.

I wasnt a fan or cared much for Dr. Paul

I wasnt a fan or cared much for Dr. Paul, prior to a few weeks ago. I was mainly turned off by the cackle of his followers annoying second only to the followers of "The One". However now that the elections are behind us and the bail-outs and ever growing national debt and inflation before us, i had the time to properly digest Dr. Pauls book. The only thing i wish is that i had read this a few months prior to the election, or even a year or two before that. My approach would have been much different. I recommend this as a must read to everyone in the United States, everyone.

    Finally the truth!

Dr. Paul is the only one in Washington willing to tell the truth. We must take back our country.

We need more men like Ron Paul leading !

First a correction about the book excerpt. Ron Paul was a Republican nominee for president, not a Liberaterian. His ideas and principles are those of the republican party foundation. Unfortunately the concept of smaller governmntt and the blurring of the major parties difference has becomes very cloudy over the last 20 years.

After you listen to this book you will learn what happended to this great country in the last 80 years and you will be sad that this man is not one of the choices you have on election day in 2008.

Ron Paul will help cure your apathy.

Ron Paul is a true American.

Ron Paul is a true American in the founding fathers sense of the word; a true patriot. The Revolution: A Manifesto is not written from a republican or democratic perspective but rather a perspective of liberty, the constitution and most importantly the truth. This book is for anyone who is skeptical of government (of any kind) and values liberty and protection of individual rights above all else.

If Ron Paul was half as good a speaker as he is a writer he may have had a shot at the presidency. Unfortunately, an inspirational speaker who captures emotions will usually trump a speaker who's message is based in critical thinking, rationality and limited government.

    Visionary

Heck, everything Ron Paul is talking about is unfolding right now. We're entering a great recession and Ron is the only person who's truly looking at the root causes of the problem.

Must have for anyone who is an American!

This is an American must have. No lengthy boring stories. I have a short attention span and this whole book kept my interest and really informed me on many American facts and how our policies are affecting the world.

If you want to be an informed voter, an activist or want to talk intelligently at a political gathering you must read/listen to this book. No brainwashing, just good broad spectrum of information.

Many Democrats and Republicans get into a groupthink position and never think outside the box. It is unfortunate that the Constitution of the United States is a new cool concept. Special interest groups have driven us so far away from the original Constitution that it is becoming nothing but a blur.

We need to take a look at our baseline again.

This book is not a left or right agenda book but an individual's book, an American book.

    Compelling Agruments

I was one of the many folks who 2 - 3 years ago thought that Ron Paul was just a complete nut case durring the last election cycle.

The events of the last year or so opened my mind to the point that I was willing to buy this audiobook, and give his aurguments a fair hearing.

I found my self convinced of about 80% of his points.

I don't think that withdrawing our millitary forces suddenly from the globe would be as clean and bloodless as he aurgues, nor that the world would suddenly come to love us after we tell the monsters of the world to "Have at it. we'll just stand on the sideline and watch."

He did convince me that, becoming neutral like Switerland should be the goal we should be moving our national policy to.

If you want to hear political positions and proposed solutions that nobody else is taking, get this audiobook. You may not agree with his positions, but you'll at least have heard his argument, and the reasons behind them.

    the audio download

my only problems with the audio DOWNLOAD version, are that there isn't separate tracks for each chapter. you're forced to scan through to find your place each time.

my attention span doesn't help either. i usually listen to it while i'm doing other things...
