Publisher's summary

Popular conservative radio host Laura Ingraham discusses President Obama's first year in office. Informative and hugely entertaining, The Obama Diaries will inspire both laughter and critical thinking about the future of the nation and the man currently at the helm.

Major media outlets love to describe the president as "no drama Obama", but The Obama Diaries tells a different tale. Through these "diary entries", listeners will see past the carefully constructed Obama façade to the administration’s true plans to "remake America".

Almost Not Funny -- Almost!

Some satire is just too close to the absolute sad truth to be really funny. This book is, however, really funny -- Typifying Ms. Ingraham's biting sarcastic wit, it is funny as the proverbial simeon on a football, but almost too close to the truth to be LOL funny! Of course, I say that as I laughed out loud myriad times while listening to it......

TRUTH IS STRANGER THAN FICTION

This book is both! It was absolutely hysterical and factually accurate, I am sorry to say. I don't know who Ms. Ingraham hired to play the voices of the book characters, but they were amazing. I laughed until my side split. This one is a must listen! and is at the top of my Christmas gift giving list this year. Thank you, Laura Ingraham.

sorry; waste of 1 credit

Well, I was fooled. I thought this would be a collection of real "diary" entires, like the personal letters in Daddy HW's book (actually read by HW himself). You know, the personal correspondence, which reveals the true insights of the person's life. Behind the scenes. No glossing on the cake.

But not here. There's no "diary" no personal correspondence. No "insights". Nada. Just a bunch of junky shallow attacks, and personal swipes on things like Obama's appearance, choice of clothing, minor misstatements in verbage (you know, "human error" kinds of "slips of the tongue). Most of this has already beaten to a pulp by the media (like when Obama didn't wear his american flag-pin on his lapel; or, when Michelle said that she was never prouder to be an american).

I read and even liked Obama's first book. It was actual history, true stories from Obama's backgroud from the heart, before Obama became embroiled into the prospects of a presidential nomination. By contrast, Obama's second book was the exact opposite; it said nothing; just a stream of policical palatitudes, designed to impress the liberals.

I'm a conserviative, otherwise anti Obama. Voted for McCain in last election.

Common Laura, lets take him on the merits (or lack thereof), not by superficial slaps at personality, and trivial nonsense. That's the kind of "greasy kid stuff" the liberals do.

Save your credits.

Where's the yucks?

I enjoy Laura Ingraham, I enjoy sarcastic humor, but I most certainly don't enjoy President Obama, his unavoidable presence in every form of media all day every day, or his version of what our country and government should be. So this book seemed like a natural for me.

This was my first Audible download. I was eagerly looking forward to some laughs at the President's expense, but found myself stopping the book after about twenty minutes or so (several times), finding myself getting tense and annoyed at Laura's often preachy and almost shrewish presentation until I ultimately stopped listening to it altogether. Where's the yucks? If I wanted to be told what to think and how to feel about Obama I'd tune in to one of the many 24/7 infomercials about him (pro OR con) on cable tv or talk radio.

So, I guess I liked the idea of this book better than the actual book itself. You're really spinning the wheel on this one if you're looking for laughs. I personally found it unfunny and unlistenable.

Not funny.

I'm a conservative and no doubt agree with Laura Ingraham on most issues. But from Audible and Amazon reviews, I expected this book to be funny. It is, but only briefly and intermittently.

The funny parts are the satirical snippets of fictional diaries kept by Obama, Michelle, etc. But those make up only 5% or 10% of the book. The rest is heartfelt polemic, Laura analyzing America's greatness, the need for citizens to keep it great, and how dreadfully Obama and his cohorts fall short. But if you've been paying attention, you already know generally what the liberal left is up to and what Obama & Crew are up to in particular. If you're already conservative, you don't need Laura to explain the world to you.

Some people like to read, or listen to, expositions of their own and like-minded views. Nothing wrong with that! I happen to be not among them. From this book's title and the introduction you can hear as a sample, I expected it to be extended satire, something like Christopher Buckley's novels.

Bully for Laura Ingraham, her insights into current events, and her advocacy of conservative principles! Maybe if you're already a fan, and her sarcasm makes you chuckle, you find this an enjoyable book. This reader-listener doesn't.

Footnote: I tried to break this into paragraphs to make it more readable. Audible unaccountably won't let me.

Very Humorous

Laura's version of what must have been going on in the White House seems more than plausible to me.

Really Funny

This book was great. I was nervous at first because I didn't want to hear a bunch of made-up stories, but she blends the diary entries with really analysis and it's great. The book follows a clear and enjoyable storyline.

Loved it!

Definitely worth a listen

I loved this book and the performance was amazing. My favorite part was Laura imitating Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid, I played that part over and over again. Very funny, we need some levity in this ridiculous situation. Laura points out the truth that so many Americans will never see.

Razzle Dazzle!!

Laura is a great story teller! It's sad that any of it was true! Maybe the rest of the diaries will find their way to her too!!
