Publisher's summary

West Virginia, 1966. For thirteen months the town of Point Pleasant is gripped by a real-life nightmare that culminates in a tragedy that makes headlines around the world. Strange occurrences and sightings, including a bizarre winged apparition that becomes known as the Mothman, trouble this ordinary American community. Mysterious lights are seen moving across the sky. Domestic animals are found slaughtered and mutilated. And journalist John Keel, arriving to investigate the freakish events, soon finds himself an integral part of an eerie and unfathomable mystery.

Translated into over thirteen languages, John Keel's unsettling account of what he encountered in Point Pleasant has long been regarded as a classic in the literature of the unexplained. It is now the basis of a major motion picture starring Richard Gere and Laura Linney.

The Mothman Prophecies is also available in print from Tor Books.

Alien Conspiracy Theorists Rejoice

Oh my. It was very hard to take this audio book seriously. It is the digital equivalent to a campfire ghost story. Or am I being mislead by extra-terrestrial beings and mysterious men in black suits. I jumped into this without doing any research. Bad move on my part.

wow.

Everything I hoped it would be plus perfect narration. Easy to listen to; much more interesting than the movie.

Amazing story, amazing audio.

Typically not a fan of the academic style writing, but with details this crazy and unbelievable it’s absolutely captivating. I have zero doubt that I’ll listen to this again.

Weird oddball fun

This book was entertaining. I enjoy how it just blows through so many odd encounters and they all tie in. It gave me a new way to view the ufo/uap phenomenon. Not a horror book but more an informative account of general high-strangeness.

Spooky Book

It was spooky without being a horror book. If you have any alien fixations, it’s a good start

gripping and thought provoking

Wasson is electric. Not only does he capture the spirit of Keel, but also tells the story with vigor and emotion. Truly a great performance.

Calling all Cryptids

I’ve always enjoyed everything about UFOs, Aliens, and Cryptids and this wasn’t any different! A great classic, and narrated very well. The only annoyance was the pronunciation of the word “enthusiasts” which kept repeating numerous times throughout the book. Haha

I finished this book in about 3 days while driving far away for a business trip. I got so entranced with this story that I missed my exits several times.
Well worth the credit purchase.
