Stop being so pessimistic and stop giving incorrect statistical data
The book is an enthusiasm killer, very discouraging. not for those who believe in positive thinking. also sounds like primitive science fiction
First, I did not know this was a speech, not a book. But, that wasn't too big of an issue. I believe I stopped listening after she mentioned there could be an infinite number of archetypes down to computer repair man archetype. Or something like that, has been a year since I listened. That and her trying to explain the empty nest syndrome. I wanted a book that went into depth about a small number of basic archetypes, this book did not deliver.
Archetype is complex language to learn; it's verbal, physical, spiritual and emotional. It's all around you Caroline delivers the goods in her typically expert and comical way. What I love about this audiobook is that it's a recording of a lecture- so it's like getting a front row seat to one of her workshops, only you get to hear the subject over and over whenever you want to! I have shared this book with all of my friends and family and even the skeptics in my life got useful information out of it.
I think that's what sets Caroline apart; she is not selling psychic anything. She's sharing her expertise on the different archetypes that exist within human nature- within you- within those around you. And then she teaches you the lessons from each archetype, the good and the parts that are challenging. This really forces you to be honest with yourself and identify your achetypal makeup. I think if you are looking to understand why you keep repeating certain lessons, why you always 'this..." and why you " never that..." you will come to appreciate the material Caroline shares. This is a handbook to understanding yourself and others, and more importantly how you can learn to relate and interact with them. Do yourself a favor and treat yourself to you.
I have a rather eclectic love of books. I know what I like and I tend not to be a severe critic. If I enjoyed it, it gets 4 or 5 stars.
This is not a book, it is a seminar that was taped. I really enjoyed the content and subject. It is not as structured as a book, but I think it is a great listen!
I would recommend this book to a friend, because it helps to explain the personality traits of oneself and those in one's lives.
I enjoyed learning about the different archetypes. It would have been better if there was a question/answer piece to help us understand or at least recognize all of our 12 archeteypes.
This book, like Carolyn Myss' other works had a ring of truth to it, and I would truly love to learn more about archetypes to better understand myself and those I have contracts with.
Someone who likes an author to meander in stories about herself before getting to objective material.
Maybe, a book that actually defines the personality types in an objective way.
This book was a big bore. I wanted to learn about the theory of archetypes - instead I just wasted my Audible credits.
I already accept the existence of archetypes. I want to know more about them and go deep. But for hours I have to go on and listen to her convince me that the archetypes exist. I already know that. So can you get on with sharing the knowledge? This is just ridiculous.
Loudain Wainwright III.
The first bunch of hours trying to convince me of the importance and existence of archetypes.
This is exactly what I have been looking for. So much information, I devoured it. It's like listening to someone sum up my life and set me on a path that makes sense..
