That there are far more archetypes than I'd have expected. The intro takes a bit long

Definitely not, the danger of thinking in stereotypes is just too great.

Sacred contracts first.

If you have read or listened to sacred contracts. The language of Archetypes is a must listen! Do these in order. Take your time even a year or more to let this absorb into you. There are no words to explain the true gift of sacred knowledge that Caroline Myss has been given and that runs through her. Stop judging for just a moment and listen.

Caroline has been appreciated by me for years. I first encountered her through Sounds True where I picked up her "Energy Anatomy" on cassette tapes. She has been my guru for years. I enjoy her so much. Any one of her titles is a masterpiece to own and I am thrilled Audible carries her works. Recommend. ;)

Symbolic language

This was a great listen. Not narrated as a book but as a series of talks. In her mystically literate language, Dr. Myss challenges individuals to more fully become who they were born to be. I could listen to her all day. Non-contrived, flowing and powerful- Love Her!

Fascinating, thought-provoking

Caroline Myss is not as widely known as she should be. The study of archetypes in our lives is not a new idea; it dates back to ancient philosophers, and is well-known to modern psychology. However, it is not a common topic for the average person. I propose that it SHOULD be, and Ms. Myss has put it into a context that will appeal to the average reader. We all regularly use this "language" of archetypes when we point out the "bully" in the school yard or the "princess" at work. But rarely do we look carefully at the characterics that make these traits so easily and naturally identifiable to us all. When seen through fairy tales, movies, and common experiences, these traits suddenly come alive and you (the reader/listener) will discover a whole new view of the world and of yourself. You will soon find that you can see the REASON for another's behavior (and your own as well) in a way that will provoke thought, understanding, and compassion. I recommend THE LANGUAGE OF ARCHETYPES as the first step into this delightful, insightful and astonishing world. You will find you want to learn more.
