The result is one of the most explosive and controversial books of the year -- guaranteed to change the lives of men and transform the way women understand the opposite sex forever.
On his journey from AFC (average frustrated chump) to PUA (pick-up artist) to PUG (pick-up guru), Strauss not only shares scores of original seduction techniques but also has unforgettable encounters with the likes of Tom Cruise, Britney Spears, Paris Hilton, Heidi Fleiss, and Courtney Love. And then things really start to get strange -- and passions lead to betrayals lead to violence.
The Game is the story of one man's transformation from frog to prince to prisoner in the most unforgettable book of the year.

This book captured by interest from cover to cover. An intriguing story with vital information for any male looking to meet females. A hypnotic combination of entertainment and knowledge-transfer. I guarantee you will be on the web looking up "Mystery Method" within the first half hour of the book. I was truly saddened when it came to the end.
Every book is worth considering. It's the kind of consideration on what to do with the book that differs.
I've gotten into this audiobook reluctantly, thinking it's going to be about a group of horny womanizers going through an orgy of sexual conquests. It seemed to head that way at first, until it discussed their tactics with NLP and hypnosis, two topics I've had some interest in for a while now. Afterward, it starts turning into a cliche riddled story in which some of the pickup artists start having feelings for a girl they met and try to keep the other pickup artists away from her.
It's a weird story riddled with shameless sexual descriptions of "conquests" in the first half, followed by a rise to the top and the benefits it brings in the third quarter of the book, and then a sobering fourth quarter where the sex parts are downplayed in favor of discussing feelings and conflicts on interest.
I give it four stars for being unlike any audiobook I've ever gone through.
What this book is not: This book is not a playbook on how to approach women.
What this book is: I found the book to provide honest insight into the world of PUAs. The Author clearly tries to provide a candid perspective on how his life changed upon entering the community of PUAs. Throughout the book Neil discusses his humility and experience with the various "schools" of pick up (i.e. Mystery Method, Social dynamics, NLP, etc).
Another great one on social dynamics and how to create attraction. This is a must have. I would also check out Neil's other books if you are looking for more good stuff. Try "Rules of the Game"
Fun, interesting, and honest book about the world of PUA's (pick up artists). While most of it seems like one big party, and at least the writer was able to make it so, it also touches on the sad hollowness of living just for sex. It's a honest book, for the most part, so its says a lot about us and others about how our sex are so repressed we do a lot of stupid things to try to satisfy them... and then hate ourselves for doing it. Anyway its a fun book about a interesting sub-culture. The reader is only so so but the story carries itself.
Interesting how PUA's become so good at scamming and can't relate to women once they fall in love.
I'd never thought of that angle.
Highly recommend this to guys who are envious of rock stars and millionaires surrounded by models.
It's got it's problems too.
Very entertaining book. The reader did a great job (He's also the author btw). Near the end I actually stayed up till like 2 in the morning to finish listening to it.
I read the book with great enthusiasm and just bought the book to hear Neil Strauss, the Author, read it in his own voice.
Designer. Aviation Enthusiast. Fitness Instructor. Love books. Prefer long series with happy endings in mystery, comedy, fantasy, & romance.
This is sad in away but really a good judge of how men think. It's obvious that there are players in the world but the more men study women of course its a bit scammy. On one hand I'm glad for them that they are improving themselves and being relatively honest. This does lay some blame on women for being risqué it's their own fault type mentality but on the other its a sad example of the human experience. I don't envy these men but it does give you some good ideas on how to improve your character and human interaction but its everyone's responsibility to not take advantage of other people with the knowledge they have.
Men chasing women. A story of one man's study of dating interaction as a novel.
