Publisher's summary

Hidden somewhere, in nearly every major city in the world, is an underground seduction lair. And in these lairs, men trade the most devastatingly effective techniques ever invented to charm women. This is not fiction. These men really exist. They live together in houses known as Projects. And Neil Strauss, the best-selling author, spent two years living among them, using the pseudonym Style to protect his real-life identity.

The result is one of the most explosive and controversial books of the year -- guaranteed to change the lives of men and transform the way women understand the opposite sex forever.

On his journey from AFC (average frustrated chump) to PUA (pick-up artist) to PUG (pick-up guru), Strauss not only shares scores of original seduction techniques but also has unforgettable encounters with the likes of Tom Cruise, Britney Spears, Paris Hilton, Heidi Fleiss, and Courtney Love. And then things really start to get strange -- and passions lead to betrayals lead to violence.

The Game is the story of one man's transformation from frog to prince to prisoner in the most unforgettable book of the year.

Great book 👌🏼

This book was great. I would say read this book after you read The Mystery Method. This was a cool sneak peak into some legendary pick up artists live’s.

Fun story that I've listened to over and over

Neil Strauss has a fantastic way of telling an engaging story. Though the concepts of pick up artists have changed and evolved, a lot of the methods and ways of thinking in this book really do work in the real world. Whether it's looking for a partner or a new friend, this book can give you some insight into a whole world of methodologies used to attract and influence others. Fun read.

A lesson on life, not a pick-up guide

Don't read this expecting to become a pick-up artist. I don't know how much of this story is true, but the just of it is that even if you get to be with every woman you like, that won't fill the emptiness inside you. You can definitely try to better your self and your pick-up game, but don't expect to find fulfilment through fucking your way through life.

Overall, even though it is really exaggerated at times, it's a good story with a lesson at the end.

my review

I enjoyed the storytelling of this book. it also has great references of individuals to check out to get second opinion as a old pool of myself I find the stuff quite entertaining. it kind of has a sad ending and when you find photos of these guys on the internet you're like damn if they were getting hot women so can you, lol. overall enjoyed all the characters and would recommend it.

Too much man drama - but entertaining

I was hoping the book would be like the first few chapters. Good times picking up women! From there it was man drama, manipulation and mental health problems. I enjoyed Neil’s “The Truth” much better.

Utterly Fascinating

This book is not what do you think when you start reading it. It is a deep lesson into what it is to be human. For me, it joins some of the great works in fundamentally enhancing my understanding of a human condition.

Very well written

I was expecting this book to be degrading yet funny in a bad pick up kind of way. I am so pleased that I couldn't have been more wrong (although not lacking a bit of humor). The author not only kept a slight edge of respect (oddly enough) throughout his story of transformation from nerd to playboy but also with a blunt honestly throughout. The details are so descriptive you feel as if you watched a movie where every detail is before your eyes all while keeping the characters so vivid that you see multiple sides to everyone's personalities and traits. I personally devoured every word and have already begun recommending it to others.
