Publisher's summary

Hidden somewhere, in nearly every major city in the world, is an underground seduction lair. And in these lairs, men trade the most devastatingly effective techniques ever invented to charm women. This is not fiction. These men really exist. They live together in houses known as Projects. And Neil Strauss, the best-selling author, spent two years living among them, using the pseudonym Style to protect his real-life identity.

The result is one of the most explosive and controversial books of the year -- guaranteed to change the lives of men and transform the way women understand the opposite sex forever.

On his journey from AFC (average frustrated chump) to PUA (pick-up artist) to PUG (pick-up guru), Strauss not only shares scores of original seduction techniques but also has unforgettable encounters with the likes of Tom Cruise, Britney Spears, Paris Hilton, Heidi Fleiss, and Courtney Love. And then things really start to get strange -- and passions lead to betrayals lead to violence.

The Game is the story of one man's transformation from frog to prince to prisoner in the most unforgettable book of the year.

The Game By Neil Strauss--- 5 stars

This book is not going to give you a step by step method of picking up chicks. See the Mystery Method for that, Which I advise to listen or read previous to this. This book will however expose the truth in its rawest form of Pick up, and gives hours of entertainment of a ride into Neil's life. This book is worth it.

To win the game you must leave the game

The fantastic thing about The Game is that it first opens you up to the excitement and potential of a world that seems closed off and elusive to so many men. Then, by walking you through the psyche of a pick up artist as he evolves through the game, you become disillusioned with it, and realize the value of transcending as Neil eventually does.

You learn in the end that while there are tactics and strategies you can learn to create attraction between yourself and a woman, meaningful relationships and satisfaction will fall by the wayside until you learn inner game. Until you develop inner peace, confidence, and self-love, and leave the external sources of validation behind.

Good story after you get past the seduction!

Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?

I was told that this book was great for picking up women which stopped me from listening to it for a number of years. Then someone told me it actually had a great story behind it so I tried it out. Great story about a man coming out of one phase of his life into another.

What other book might you compare The Game to and why?

None, it stands out alone.

What about Neil Strauss’s performance did you like?

Since he lived it, he could really give you the feeling of the situation. I love when the author reads.

If you were to make a film of this book, what would be the tag line be?

The 30 Year Old Virgin.

Any additional comments?

Give it a listen, it's a great listen from the view of a student of psychology.

Borderline Life hanging. Beautiful and relatable.

This book is light no other. I will only sit, watch, and see if it stands the test of time to become a modern classic.

Still having mixed feelings about sharing this book with girls/ex, or anybody. This is full of life lessons that I am sure most will rejoice from.

It's a story, not the rules

This doesn't tell you the rules. It's a story mixed with some rules with a happy ending.
