Meet the essential Bernie Sanders, an authentic and uncompromising champion of the people.
Independent United States Senator Bernie Sanders, who has a 35-year career in public service, first as Burlington, Vermont's mayor, then as Vermont's sole representative to Congress, and currently as a United States senator, is now campaigning to become president of the United States. His goal is to build a movement to take back our country from the rich and powerful, and return it to its rightful owners - we, the American people.
Sanders' common-sense, populist message is resonating with Democrats, Republicans, independents, as well as ordinary working-and middle-class Americans from all walks of life, including millennials, seniors, veterans, immigrants, environmentalists, union workers, and more.
In this short, accessible audiobook, author Jonathan Tasini draws heavily from Sanders' ample public record of speeches, statements, and interviews, and couples his working-class spirit with specific legislation he has championed on a number of core proposals that comprise a broader people's agenda for America, including:
The Essential Bernie Sanders and His Vision for America is a must-listen for anyone who shares a vision for a forward-looking, sustainable, and more just United States of America and is eager to change the course of history.

Geopolitics, history, and philosophy junkie. I love smoothly flowing prose that moves me effortlessly from one idea to the next.
The essential Bernie Sanders was what I thought it was going to be, a one legged butt kicking of those who actually contribute to America. And nary a word on business, invention or creation, which all enemies of the people, apparently. A politician who has made a career of catering to the aggrieved no matter what ails them. I am disappointed in the message and philosophy which goes against the very grain of what once made America what it is. To appreciate Bernie--and to feel the Bern--is not to know America or understand its Tocquevillian roots. One star for the message, I can't bring myself to give it more than that.
AUDIBLE MAKES READING POSSIBLE AND EASY FOR ME...I AM VISUALLY IMPAIRED. I WISH THEY HAD ALL THE BOOKS I WANT I WOULD SNAP THEM UP!
BERNIE HAS MY VIEWS. I FOLLOW POLITICS EVERY YEAR ALL YEAR. ELECTION OR NOT. WHEN I HEARD HE WAS RUNNING FOR PRESIDENT I WAS ELATED!!!
IT GIVES YOU A BASICS ON BERIECRATICS.
NO BUT I KNOW BERNIE'S POLITICS VERY WELL. I READ IT IN SEVERAL SEGMENTS.
I AM MOURNING THE FIXED PRIMARY THIS YEAR. BERNIE MAY HAVE WON IF THERE HAD BEEN MORE DEBATES ON DAYS WHEN PEOPLE WATCH MORE TV. THE PRESS AVOIDED COVERING HIM UNTIL THEY HAD NO CHOICE, AND THE DNC HAD NOT INTERFERED WITH THE ELECTION. I LEFT THE DEMOCRATIC PARTY AFTER OVER 40 YEARS LAST APRIL AFTER VOTING FOR BERNIE IN THE CONNECTICUT PRIMARY.
Largely presented in his own words and including many bills he has written and past stands he has taken.
my only criticism is that the narrator tried too hard to be passionate and came across as just speaking too loudly.
As a concerned citizen I feel the need to listen to all sides of the political sphere. After listening to this book I simply cannot wrap my brain around his health care solutions. If our health care is so horrible why do doctors from all over the world come here to train? I know if I needed a complicated medical procedure completed I can guarantee you it would be done in the US. The single pay system you advocate will lead to mediocrity in care. It will become a numbers game. Free market economy is imperative. What incentive would docs have to build a practice based upon compassion if everyone were to make the same amount of money??
Through his speeches and steadfast commitment to fairness sheds light on how Sanders will save America and capitalism from the rabid jaws of corruption.
The excellent, sensible recommendations for change.
Our Next President (Hopefully)
Clear, to the point presentation of this candidates philosophy. Superb candidate. Superb audio presentation.
