Editorial reviews

The revolutionary words of Malcolm X continue to resonate today in this performance of four of the legendary African-American leader's speeches from the 1960s. Voice performer George Washington III truly inhabits the role of Malcolm X, delivering his speeches in the same fiery diction that made him such a charismatic and compelling speaker 50 years ago. The stirring addresses in The End of White World Supremacy: Four Speeches touch on subjects including black pride, the black Muslim cause, and the black revolution that would see African-Americans freed from the oppression of white society. With Malcolm X's electrifying original words and George Washington III's skilled contemporary oration, these speeches still have the power to provoke.

Publisher's summary

Here in his own words are the revolutionary ideas that made Malcolm X one of the most charismatic and influential African-American leaders of the 1960s. These speeches document Malcolm's progression from Black nationalism to internationalism, and are key to both understanding his extraordinary life and illuminating his angry yet uplifting cause.

Didn’t age well

If you’re looking for any insight into today’s times look elsewhere, this is the fiery Malcom X in full Elijah Muhammad doctrine and conclusions aren’t great but capture X’s wit and divisiveness. Much of it is a platform for Elijah Muhammad’s agenda.

- black people are indoctrinated by the white man by not knowing their history.

- history is only knowing the teachings of Islam and especially the flimsier side of Elijah Muhammad and some odd theology, about scientists and lesser gods, unknown wisemen

- Jews know their history because their bible predates Jesus but also are sneakier white devils
- white liberals are worse than conservatives as they are sneakier white devils

- the grand conclusion is to move back to Africa or create black only nation by making the us create a black nation by giving up 1/7 of the land to black people.

I really like George Washington the 3rd, which I already knew from other books giving electricity to Malcom X’s words. Brace yourself for righteous angry, some unexpected theological arguments, witty word play with some mediocre conclusions. Read for it’s historical value of the civil rights movement as it presents a very alternative view and highlights exactly why Malcom X remains controversial.

Enlightened & Educated

Listening to Malcom X’s speeches has truly given me more insight into African-American/Black history (my history). His intellect, confidence, frankness, boldness and delivery inspire me. Malcom X articulately communicated social, racial and political issues in his time that are very relevant and true until this day. The reader did an exceptional job in his reading of Malcom’s speeches! I plan to order the physical book :)

Was expecting Malcolm

if you buy the paperback on Amazon, it comes with 2 recordings that were actually Malcolm. I was expecting that here. The narrator is amazing! I was just expecting the real thing for at least 2 of the speeches.

Truth

I really wanted it to continue, the narration was excellent, it is the truth from the Nation of islam , in the time before Malcolm went to Mecca and realized that we are all brothers and sisters, before he realized that the One and only Allah, The Most High was the One and Only true God. It was done truthfly and well but you must remember it is also from the time before his enlightenment. I would recommend this book if you want to know about Malcolm when he was in the Nation of Islam. then read about him post his hajj to Mecca.

Malcolm X was Fiery

I loved they way George Washington III, read the story. He brought an intensity that the essays needed.

I think it's easy to write this off as racist drivel. And it sort of is, but you have to put yourself in his shoes. Everything that has happened to black people in this country makes a man feel like losing is all he can do. The story, racist as it is, is the story that puts black people on top in the world. Which is an interesting story to tell and an easy one for someone as radical as Malcolm X to buy into.

The essays are a fascinating look into a specific moment in time of a man who evolved over time.

A different perspective... peculiar institution.

The narrator was clear and concise. The perspective was raw and focused on solutions that would achieve social justice going forward.
