Publisher's summary

If you believe children should be seduced into warped sexual behavior by the gay elite, if you think confessed murderers should be set free by defense attorneys who know how to wield the race card, if you feel promiscuous gay men should be empowered to spread AIDS and other sexually transmitted diseases, don’t read this book.

But if you’ve always suspected that factions on the left are trying to destroy the values that define our civilization, this book proves it. Through the chapters of The Death of Right and Wrong, author, activist, and pundit Tammy Bruce takes you inside the chilling world of the left - a place where morals and decency have been turned on their heads and the crisp distinction between right and wrong has been blurred into a mushy, gray mess.

In this world, the gay elite exploit our children - under the guise of tolerance and education - to satisfy their sexual obsessions.

In this world, the Black elite laud convicted murderers as community heroes and award-winning “artists.”

In this world, the feminist elite fawn over a woman who mercilessly killed all five of her children.

And much more that will offend your sense of decency and threaten your basic values.

Ms. Bruce smashes the facades of “tolerance,” “understanding,” and other leftist slogans to reveal the ugly truth of their agenda. As a gay activist and former president of the Los Angeles chapter of the National Organization of Women, she witnessed firsthand the left’s attempts to undermine our millennia-old code of morals and values, aided by politically biased media and academia. And if the news headlines of today are any indication, they’re winning the culture war. Unless we act now, we are doomed at the hands of special interest groups on the left who want nothing more than to undermine our ability to judge right from wrong in order to foist their own selfish, anything-goes society on the rest of us. This book reveals what they’re doing, how they’re doing it, and what we can do to restore decency in our society.

You’ll discover powerful tools in these chapters to help you understand the psychology of the left - what makes them tick and, more importantly, how to stop them from eroding our values completely. Full of controversial opinions and countless examples ripped from the headlines, The Death of Right and Wrong is a powerful, eye-opening book that you won’t want to be without.

Excellent & relevant

This book is as relevant today as when it was written in 2003–probably more so. The author clearly describes the effects of the leftist agenda to destroy morality and decency in this country. Wake up, America!

Required Reading!!

This is a thorough, shocking, troubling, BRILLIANT examination of how society is being manipulated into changing their beliefs, behaviors, morals, and common sense values, all in the name of power and politics. Reality can be disturbing, yet this information can serve as OUR power, a tool to end the insanity and protect those values, along with our children's and our future. TRUTHFUL education and awareness are power. EVERY American should be required to read this important book. Tammy Bruce did an eloquent, amazing job. And, I am thrilled that she also did the Audible reading herself. Since my favorite form of reading experience is through listening to books, I hope that she will make her others available in this format as well.

A thoughtful analytical review of moral relativism

There were so many "AHA" moments in this book. I thought it was a great analysis of our society from what you might think is the unusual perspective of a lesbian Republican. (after you listen to the book you may not think that it's so unusual for a lesbian to be a conservative.) I first heard about Tammy Bruce on the Dr. Laura Schlessinger show and while I don't rush out and get every book Dr. Laura recommends this one sounded intriguing and was it ever! Ms. Bruce describes how "damaged" people have control over the left and are because of their skewed perspective are trying to take us all down with them. She cites case after case of crazy incidents (like how Maxine Waters came out and said the LA riots were just some poor black women going out looking for milk for their babies)! A must read!

Eye Opening

A powerful book that should open the eyes of EVERYONE ... she masterfully proves the bias of the left and how the "drip drip" of these attacks on society and morals is tainting the distinction between right and wrong.

Compelling Facts

Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?

I would recommend this book, but one must have strong nerves because of what Tammy Bruce points out in this book.

What was the most compelling aspect of this narrative?

Well she speaks of all sorts of heinous stuff that's going on that I was unaware of and how it relates to the break down of our culture. It's interesting and true.

What about Tammy Bruce’s performance did you like?

Yes, I like Tammy Bruce's performance. I subscribe to her radio show.

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

No, I listened to it an hour and a half at the gym until completed.

Any additional comments?

I go to Tammy Bruce for news, she's informed and researches her information well.

Overall, a good book

Bruce voices some very good points. Most relevant to the current social landscape, is he attack on the manipulation and mass marketing of people's victimhoods, as illustrated by certain social leaders on the Left.
However, she almost goes off the deep end in a couple of sections. When verbalizing her uber-patriotism, she almost parrots the same nationalistic mantra, that this conservative with international family, friends and influence can recognize as hyperbole. Yes, the US is a great country, but to paraphrase Jeff Daniels' character in the tv series News Room, most countries are free and while the US competes very well in various aspects, it doesn't always come in first. Nationalists, American and otherwise, are often deaf to this type of reality. Bruce's monologue occasionally reveals her as such a nationalist.
Additionally, routinely voicing her liberal stances on abortion and gay liberation, her hero-worship is almost entirely reserved for conservative public figures. Case in point, toward the end of the book, she voices disgust that men got away with secretly photographing women nude. However, she follows this indignation by criticizing a Washington State Democrat for drafting an article aimed at protecting such women as excessive legislation.
In spite of its imperfections, The Death of Right and Wrong offers worthwhile analysis of the current landscape and is worth a read.
4 out of 5 is a pretty accurate score IMHO

A Must Read!!!!

One of the most eye opening books I ever heard. This is someone that has been inside and involved in the inner circles of the left for more than 20 years, as president of NOW, campaing worker for numerous democrats, inside Hollywood and in the forefront of the Gay and Lesbian movement, she has seen it all. Now she gives us the inner working of these movements and their agendas in the true light that they represent, what they want to accomplish and how they want to do it. Whether knowingly or unknowingly, the players in this drama have an agenda they want pushed upon society and it is up to use to made ourselves aware and stand up for the sake of our children and their children.

Some good ideas; poor writing and narration

This audiobook is a very mixed bag. Although the book contains some good instances of the left's assault on values in its quest to destroy the country, there is nothing in this book that you can't find in other books (although finding such books in audio format is not easy, hint to Audible.com) And even though the author is the former president of a large NOW chapter, there is amazingly little in the book which draws on the author's first hand experience in that job to expose more of the left's failings. (The discussion of women who kill but get away with it using support from NOW could have been written by anyone.) A good contrast is David Horowitz' Radical Son (which is in fact available on Audible.com), which relies entirely on the author's personal experiences to devastate the left. One big problem with the content of this book is the author's refusal to discuss abortion, which she states she supports. This book would have been a good platform for her to explain why supporting abortion is "right" and "not wrong." But she doesn't discuss it at all. I guess that there were just some things she doesn't want to talk about. Another problem is that this doesn't really "feel" or sound like a book. Instead, it sounds as if the author is delivering the keynote luncheon speech to a group of businessmen and women. That flaw is made worse by the fact that the author also reads the book, so she actually gets the chance to make the book sound like she's giving a luncheon speech. Finally, the author constantly repeats the same phrases. An example: she uses the phrase "looking glass" (to describe the left's view "through the looking glass") fifty times according to one tool I used to check the book's content. The phrase "left elite" is used 87 times. She uses the phrase "gee" only 8 times. Imagine sitting through a speech where someone did that. Well, that's what listening to this book sounds like, and I'm a conservative.

From the mouth of a BABE!

She's good looking, a lesbian, she has a unique perspective on current events, and she can back it up with history. This is a Democrat that longs for what Democrats used to stand for. I would reccommend this to anyone, especially for my fellow conservatives who think that all liberals have lost it. There is hope for all of us, and Tammy Bruce shows that.

Thesis great, argument mixed

I really enjoyed and agreed with the central points of Ms. Bruce's book. She has several strong examples of the death of right and wrong. However, some of her arguments weren't the strongest available and may have hurt her case in some places. In many ways, the book sounds like a radio show (during which imperfect arguments are more forgivable).

In general, I really enjoyed this book--but she was preaching to the choir. I don't know if I think it would persuade many who didn't already agree with her.
