Publisher's summary

It’s amateur hour at the White House. So says New York Times best-selling author Edward Klein in his political exposé The Amateur. Tapping into the public’s growing sentiment that President Obama is in over his head, The Amateur argues that Obama’s toxic combination of incompetence and arrogance has run our nation and his presidency off the rails.

“Obama was both completely inexperienced and ideologically far to the left of most Americans when he entered the White House,” says Klein. “And he was so arrogant that he didn’t even know what he didn’t know.”

Klein, who is known for getting the inside scoop on everyone from the Kennedys to the Clintons, reveals never before published details about the Obama administration’s political inner workings, as well as Barack and Michelle’s personal lives, including the inordinate influence Michelle wields over Barack and her feud with a high profile celebrity; the real reason Rahm Emanuel left the White House (it wasn’t for family reasons); why Valerie Jarrett’s role is closer to that of Rasputin than impartial senior advisor; how Obama has purposefully forgotten and ignored those who put him in power, including the Kennedys and the Jewish and African American communities in Chicago.

From Obama’s conceited and detached demeanor, to his detrimental reliance on Michelle Obama and Valerie Jarrett’s advice, to the Obamas’ extravagant and out of touch lifestyle, The Amateur reveals a president whose ignorance and incompetence are sabotaging himself, his presidency, and America.

“A devastating indictment of the lethal combination of incompetence and radicalism that has made Obama into one of the worst presidents in American history.” (Norman Podhoretz, New York Times best-selling author)

Do Not Miss The Ameteur!

What did you love best about The Amateur?

The Amateur presents a portrait of the current president that cuts through the hype and glitter of the 2008 campaign. It gives the reader great insight into Obama's personality and performance as commander and chief, his true political motivations, and the people around him who help define his ideaology in the political landscape of Washington D.C.

Who was your favorite character and why?

I think Bill Clinton and his appraisal of Obama is the key to the power of this book. His political evaluation, hopes for Hillary's presidential bid in 2016, and his exclamation that actually provided the title for this powerful book by Mr. Klein.

What about John McLain’s performance did you like?

Very compatible with the moving dialogue of this book.

If you were to make a film of this book, what would be the tag line be?

The one book about Obama's presidency that every american should read!

Any additional comments?

Very enjoyable and obviously well researched and written. I will now certainly aquire more of Ed Klein's works.

The only honest expose of the amateur President

Would you consider the audio edition of The Amateur to be better than the print version?

Yes the audio version shows the conviction of the writer.
We as Americans have been duped by an amateur.
We actually drank his Kool Aid, believed in and trusted him to help us out of a fiscal quagmire. He instead drove us into a quicksand of lies, deceit and still believes he is doing the right thing.

Mr President you are fired. Leave the keys on the table on the way out!

The book The Amateur put into order my thoughts about this bungling fool that we all believed would save us. Instead he has caused more damage that will take years maybe decades to fix.

Thank you Ed Klein for such a factual narrative of an Amateur let loose in our White House.

Who was your favorite character and why?

Oprah with all her power and assistance was thrown aside like a worn out rag doll.
Obama was the real main character that is nothing more than an egomaniacal Amateur hurting the country we all love while we stand by and let him do it.

What about John McLain’s performance did you like?

Professionalism

Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?

Oprah's disgraceful treatment

Any additional comments?

Arrogance, Arrogance and more Arrogance of our wanna be Amateur president will be his legacy.

A great honest read of a man we thought could save the economy and put us back to work.

Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?

Outraged would be a better description! It was absolutely unbelievable that this is going on
in OUR White House!

Eye-Opening

Would you consider the audio edition of The Amateur to be better than the print version?

Probably not. The narrator was terrible.

Any additional comments?

I highly recommend this book. President Obama was not properly vetted during the 2008 election process and the media was quick to usher him in as our next president. This book takes an in depth look at how inexperienced, inept and feckless President Obama truly is. Some may say its a slam book, but you'll have to decide for yourself. I was never a fan of Obama and this book only confirms my thoughts about him. I follow the news very close and even listen to talk radio throughout the day. There was a lot of info in this book that was kept under cover until now. What I learned was shocking to say the least. I'd recommend reading this book. The narrator on the audio is absolutely terrible. My 6 yr old nephew could have read this better. He made it difficult to follow along.
