Publisher's Summary

In this visionary book, Dennis Prager, one of America's most original thinkers, contends that humanity confronts a monumental choice. The whole world must decide between American values and its two oppositional alternatives: Islamism and European-style democratic socialism.

Prager - a bestselling author, columnist, and nationally syndicated radio talk show host who is read and heard by millions of people in America and abroad - makes the case for the American value system as the most viable program ever devised to produce a good society. Those values are explained here more clearly and persuasively than ever before.

Still the Best Hope deals with three huge themes: The first is perhaps the most persuasive explanation for why Leftism has been and will always be a moral failure, despite its acknowledged appeal to many people of goodwill. The second explains why fundamentalist Islam, despite its historic and growing appeal, cannot make a good society. But Prager holds out hope for an open and tolerant Islam and explains why it will emerge from faithful American Muslims. The third is a singularly persuasive defense and explanation of what Prager calls the "American Trinity": liberty, values rooted in the Creator, and the melting-pot ideal. These values are inscribed on every American coin as "Liberty," "In God We Trust," and "E Pluribus Unum," and they are the reasons for America's greatness. Without them, America will cease to be an exceptional nation, and therefore cease to be America.

Prager shows why these values can and must be adopted by every nation and culture in the world, why Americans must relearn and recommit to these values, and why America must vigorously export them. For if the world does not adopt American values, the result will be chaos and barbarism on an unprecedented scale.

Anyone who cares about the future should at least read this. I do not agree with all of the opinions but it has made me reconsider how balanced a world view I had previously.

I hope for a peaceful future by western standards and the arguments are fairly compelling. I would like to see Dennis Prager discuss some of this with Sam Harris.

"Prager Still The Best Hope; Narrator, Erik Bergman"
Would you consider the audio edition of Still the Best Hope to be better than the print version?

Both have their advantages. The print copy is always available as an easier reference to use. The audio may be enjoyed using different brain centers that relax the eyes. Audio is accessible while driving at the same time, but I listened to it on my PC while relaxing in my chair or lying in my bed.

What other book might you compare Still the Best Hope to and why?

Righteous Indignation: Excuse Me While I Save the World! by Andrew Breitbart. Both books point out past and present events to make the argument for a more Conservative/Libertarian solution to America's problems.

    Which scene was your favorite?

The inspiration behind the Far Left compared to those who inspire the Right.

Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?

More than a moment, the running theme throughout the book; no matter how bad government becomes, there is always hope in the people to rise to the task, as our forefathers did, of applying the principles and morals necessary to withstand the onslaught against the United States Constitution.

    Any additional comments?

Dennis Prager captures the truth about what sets the USA apart from the world. He uses three parts to explain historical and contemporary aspects of America's uniqueness. The fundamental change occurring today in the USA is the impetus for the author to write this book.

America is experiencing efforts to change this country into something as radical as a Muslim nation run by Islamists or a Socialist satellite of Europe, which has the threat of becoming a Muslim Caliphate.

The Hope in this book resides in the people who demonstrate their love of Liberty, with its concept of free enterprise, and belief in a Supreme Being whose Providence protects the worthy. The invading alternatives Prager describes as a cancer that the rest of the world proves to be an undesirable existence and destroys the magnificence that America's founding fathers designed for us to inherit and maintain.

Still the Best Hope: Why the World Needs American Values to Triumph is a wake-up call for those who know better but remain silent or inactive in America's restoration, not its demolition. This book is also an education for those who are indoctrinated into false histories and manipulated tendencies that favor Socialism over Liberty. This book ends by pointing out that Liberty, as experienced in the USA, can be applied to the rest of the world without any country losing its identity. The goal is to experience what makes America great, not make another America.

"Very Logical, Methodical Arguement for Traditional"

Being a semi-regular listener of the Dennis Prager show, I expected this to be a good read/listen. I was not disappointed by the content, but I felt the reader lacked some of the insights that the book was displaying. Having a good handle on Prager's thought/speech patterns, I second guessed the reader numerous times as I felt he had missed the point of what he was reading. This is a minor issue, but it was honestly the only drawback for me.

The book was still very rewarding, and I would highly recommend it as a gift for a pre-college student, or anyone who is truly seeking cause & effect relationships for the greatness of America.
