Publisher's summary

“The immutable fact of politics in America is this: liberals hate conservatives.”

Ann Coulter, whose examination of the Clinton impeachment was a major national bestseller and earned widespread praise, now takes on an even tougher issue. At a time when Democrats and Republicans should be overwhelmingly congenial, American political debate has become increasingly hostile, overly personal, and insufferably trivial. Whether conducted in Congress or on the political talk shows, played out at dinners or cocktail parties, politics is a nasty sport.

At the risk of giving away the ending: It’s all liberals’ fault.

Cultlike in their behavior, vicious in their attacks on Republicans, and in almost complete control of mainstream national media, the left has been merciless in portraying all conservatives as dumb, racist, power hungry, homophobic, and downright scary. This despite the many Republican accomplishments of the last few decades, as well as the Bush administration’s expert handling of the country’s affairs in the wake of the worst attacks on American soil and of the war that followed.

With incisive reasoning and meticulous research, Ann Coulter examines the events and personalities that have shaped modern political discourse—the bickering, backstabbing, and name-calling that have made cultural mountains out of partisan molehills. She demonstrates how the media, especially, are biased—and usually wrongheaded—and have done all in their power to obfuscate the issues and the people behind them, bending over backward to villainize and belittle the right, while rarely missing an opportunity to praise the left.

Perhaps if conservatives had had total control over every major means of news dissemination for a quarter century, they would have forgotten how to debate, too, and would just call liberals stupid and mean. But that’s an alternative universe. In this universe, the public square is wall-to-wall liberal propaganda.

Refreshingly honest and unerringly timely, Slander continues where Bernard Goldberg’s number one bestselling Bias left off.

Well narrated by the author

This is a fabulous book, made all the better with Ann Coulter as the narrator. Her narration captures all of the wit and sarcasm that no narrator but the author could deliver. Those on this page who criticize her for what they consider hypocritical use of hyperbole and name-calling miss the very point she is trying to make: that these cheap tactics are employed far too often by the left-leaning media. Whether you agree with her or not, nobody can deny that it is very entertaining, fun to listen to, and impeccably narrated.

A Must Read/Listen for All Americans.

Ann Coulter has written an interesting and intellegent account of the American media's liberal bias. It was thouroughly documented. My wife an I greatly enjoyed listening to the book. It's guaranteed to make any liberal call it "stupid or dumb." When the book was on the bestsellers list I had a hard time finding it in the store. Thank you audible.com for making it available. I highly recommend this book to any and every American, liberal or consertavative!

Slander? Ann Coulter a subject she often does …

Would you say that listening to this book was time well-spent? Why or why not?

Right off the bat I have to say I do find AnnCoulter entertaining around the's standpoint of an individual who has only bread one book prior to this of hers. Let I'm going to say first about this book is which was written in the review which is I believe the first review on Amazon.com under the hardcover edition. Is in Coulter goes right after Gloria Steinem and a section of the book . Saying that the only reason her magazine stayed afloat. Jimmy was very hypocritical and was the tea pot calling the kettle black . Look at AnnCoulter . Her face is changed so much from this book is 2002 from Trump withdraws . Where she's obviously had a nose job in plastic surgery and Botox to make sure her face is pretty and she's obviously using her looks to sell her books . Along with an egocentric sometimes sensationalize facts, with not a lot findings to back up the information she is spouting off in her books . Watch her books are entertaining sometimes but… The language she uses in them i.e. terms are offensive especially when you are falling under one of the terms she's describing you as an you took the money and bought this audiobook to listen to while you did the immersion reading with Kindle book . She lives in the world or at least speaks in the world with terms that are completely outdated and offensive that have not been used in 30 to 40 years . Especially using the word cripples , blacks , and other politically incorrect term like that I think she should be smart enough as a lawyer to know that they are not acceptable to use this day and age and honestly think about what she says or at least be changing how she says it before speaking it or I should say writing it. That being said I didn't find her to be very intelligent I thought this book is very well-written I don't really want to talk to much about the book because I hate when people spoil things in the reviews . I gave the book what I thought would be a fair rating I really like the point of view for the most part I just pointed about when I didn't like it. I gave the performance/narration five stars , the story restarts because I thought certain things were way mean-spirited at times which is why the overall rating was three stars for would've gotten a higher rating like her book "Mugged" and ¡Adios America! I cave each for stars or overall and 5 Stars, For narration.

How would you have changed the story to make it more enjoyable?

That it was an unabridged edition of the book with the author. Because the full version of the book has a different narrator . So this is the only reason why I purchased this edition other than that I got nothing else to say

Do you think Slander needs a follow-up book? Why or why not?

Everyone of her books is a follow-up book to her last book . That being said I probably will be reading the next book because I am working on a dissection of this woman for my YouTube channel .

Any additional comments?

I guess you could say I fall somewhere in the middle . I am neither left nor right I kind of agree with that little bit of both sides . Like another reviewer said if I was to call anybody I guess I would say independent except independent so never make it anywhere. However I find you have to force yourself to get through her stuff . Myself being disabled physically, founded a very bitter pill to swallow listening to her talk about things that she doesn't understand Lornas not a thing about when it comes to being on Medicaid or Medicare /welfare. Or living with disability and I guess you could say listening to her old school views is ridiculous at times , because she boxes everyone . When people do not think inboxes not everyone that is Spanish is a criminal , same goes with the Muslims community , I hate how she always refers to work so as white because there is no such thing as "white " . She is Caucasian , which means her ancestory i.e. heritage is made up of many different nationalities , and it makes her sound like a bigot . Watching her on TV I found her entertaining I find her very smart I find her very interesting but because she is a lawyer she has to always be right even when she's wrong . I understand that I can accept that . However I do not like people who put down other people can make themselves feel better or to put themselves up on a pedestal . Like I said I like her book Mugged,, and her last book. And the one about the Clinton impeachment .

Finally! The left gets a damned good wacking!

Put plain and simple, Ms. Coulter's expose' of the heavily left wing biased media smacks of the truth...right where it hurts...in the written and now spoken word.

Amazing Political Awakening

If you're a conservative, you'll love it! If liberal, you'll call her a liar -- without listening to the facts. Ms. Coulter thoroughly dissects the "Press" and their biased news coverage. If you're looking for the facts to support your feeling that the network news never seems to get it right, this book is a "must-listen"!

Funny, Insightful -- Ann Coulter at her best

Well written--and just as well read by the author. Ann sees things and describes them in a way that is both funny and insightful. It's amazing how many of her insights are so apt. It's like she has outlined liberal talking points--which are still being used on a daily basis. If you're on the right, you will want to see those talking points skewered. If you're on the left, you will want to understand their vulnerabilities. And all is done in a way that's very entertaining. You might find yourself laughing out loud a lot at her wit. This audiobook won't put you to sleep.

Salacious Right Winging

Ann Coulter delivers a hot rendition of right wing rhetoric in Slander. While certainly not a deep discussion of the media, she does provide an outrageously charged version of right wing paranoia. This will be an extremely entertaining listen for those disposed to see a media conspiracy in every story or see liberals as putting their agenda above every immoral act possible. Anne certainly does not give a balanced view of right wing / left wing smearing, but that was very much to be expected.

Another Hole in the Dam

After books like this and Bernard Goldbergs "Bias" it surprises me that there are those that still deny that there is not a left leaning media. This book is replete with incontrovertible example after example of a conscience or subconscious politically correct agenda. I think she had over 700 footnotes that can be easily checked out. Her premise is further realized by recent news stories of CNN's embarrassing Iraqi coverup agenda and the New York Times lowering of standards and ethics in their diversity endeavors. I would not call her humor nasty ala Michael Moore but she can be caustic when making her point especially when the recipient is another woman....wierrrr (cat sound) Yeah baby!!!

This broad can write and read one heck of a book!!

Seriously, I loved this book. Ann Coulter lifts up the rock that Leftist lies and hypocrisy hide under and the little bugs go scurrying. She points out the incredulous things the Left feed to us that most people don't take the time to really think about. She blows away the left's emotional caterwauling with cold, hard facts and keen insight. And, to top it all off, she has a great sense of humor. If you have the guts to listen to this book, YOU WILL LEARN SOMETHING!

The shoe is on the other foot

Ann Colter gives the left a taste of there own bitter medicine and they can't stand it. Yes, anyone can do nex-lex searches and skew them, but if your talking about words used to describe ones political view the number of articles containing, "extreme right" and "extreme left" are more than valid. Come on now let's be truthful with ourselves.
The right has been bashed by the inteligencia and media for far too long. They break down the beliefs of the right and skew them in a way that they find favorable to there own agenda. Any person who dares voice opposition to the lefts' dogma are bafoons, morons, uneducated, etc, etc.
The one problem I have with this book is that it does nothing to end the mudslinging. We as a people must some day realize that just because a person doesn't have the same views as you that dosn't make them evil, stupid, crazy, etc. However I must confess, finally chucking the humble pie accross the room feels a little good.
