Fascinating true life story

Audio or print, this account of the near death experience of a brain surgeon is compelling evidence of the spiritual world that awaits us after death.

Who was your favorite character and why?

This is not a novel. The only "character" is the author, and he writes about his family, friends and doctors. The messages given to him while on "the other side" are life changing.

Any additional comments?

Other good books about near death experiences include Dannion Brinkley, "Saved By the Light" and Betty Eade, "Embraced By The Light." The similarities between these three books, whose authors have never spoken to each other... are remarkable.

Confirmation of what I've always believed...

Eben"s experience reminded me of when I was a little girl and would fly around during sleep and experience wondrous places... As an Interfaith minister, I wholeheartedly understand the universal tenets in our lives are we are all connected, we are greater than our physical selves, and we are unconditionally Loved by the Creator.

The information presented in this book are completely life changing. Also it is very well read!

Very interesting

I found this well worth the time but was much more touched by "Heaven is for Real" by Todd Burpo. Both are very worthwhile books for Christians and non believers as well.

Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?

Yes - It addresses issues of what it means to be at once "a soma", and "a soul", inexorably engaged in contemplative proximate union with it's Creator!

What other book might you compare Proof of Heaven to and why?

The collected works of Saint John of the Cross. Especially, "The Assent of Mt. Carmel" and "The Dark Night of the Soul." which also focus primarily on the nature of our proximate union with God. Also, one might wish to read the Biography of St. Theresa of Calcutta."

I thought it was a very good journey. Very inspiring to keep the faith of something better is waiting. I did enjoy the story.

This book is captivating from beginning to end. Dr. Alexander is an amazing story teller and his story is diffently amazing! loved it cant wait to listen to his next book.

Brilliantly thought out, scientific evidence and t

Having survived my own nde this touched on so many of the same and yet extremely different experiences one has during nde phenomenon. I was given 10% chance to awaken, 1% to do so without impairment. I literally was in the ambulance Friday night and I awoke Sunday morning like nothing happened. Amazing experience that changed my life entirely. Thank you for sharing your life experiences with us one.

Difficult subject matter

Would you say that listening to this book was time well-spent? Why or why not?

The writer/reader was very charismatic, interesting and engaging. I was multi-tasking while listening so it was worth-while. The ending was disappointing because I had so many questions, but, of course, this subject has no definitive answers.
