Publisher's summary

In Liberty Defined, congressman and #1 New York Times bestselling author Ron Paul returns with his most provocative, comprehensive, and compelling arguments for personal freedom to date.

The term "Liberty" is so commonly used in our country that it has become a mere cliché. But do we know what it means? What it promises? How it factors into our daily lives? And most importantly, can we recognize tyranny when it is sold to us disguised as a form of liberty?

Dr. Paul writes that to believe in liberty is not to believe in any particular social and economic outcome. It is to trust in the spontaneous order that emerges when the state does not intervene in human volition and human cooperation. It permits people to work out their problems for themselves, build lives for themselves, take risks and accept responsibility for the results, and make their own decisions. It is the seed of America.

This is a comprehensive guide to Dr. Paul's position on fifty of the most important issues of our times, from Abortion to Zionism. Accessible, easy to digest, and fearless in its discussion of controversial topics, Liberty Defined sheds new light on a word that is losing its shape.

Good Book

What did you love best about Liberty Defined?

I am a Ron Paul fan and felt that it was good for my 17 year old to hear as well. Ron does a great job at explaining his political positions.

Every Libertarian Should Read and Own This Book

Even if you disagree with some of the policy positions outlined in the book, Ron Paul does an excellent job of proposing questions about the role of government and maximizing liberty on every major issue. Due to it's alphabetical format, this book would make an excellent reference book for anyone of the libertarian minded person that might be interested in becoming more involved in politics.

Excellent review of libertarian ideals

Outlines the libertarian view on a wide variety of political and moral points. Ron Paul's viewpoints are extremely consistent and this book shows how many (if not all) political points are directly tied to each other, also revealing the hypocrisy of both Republican and Democratic parties.

Astounding content!

Common sense arguments set forth by Ron Paul make you wonder why we still live our lives not noticing how many freedoms we have given up and are about to give up even more if staying idle and pretending all is just fine.
We need to start putting some more effort into our thought process - no excuses!
Fantastic book!

Ron Paul for President

I have never agreed with so many views of a politician. The way he discussed the 50 issues was easy to understand and thoroughly thought out.

A life-changing read.

Simply put: I don't know how anyone can read this book and remain Republican or Democrat. If there's an issue that you're questioning, Dr. Paul defines it in this book with all the wisdom and clarity in the world. I've always thought I was fairly conservative, but there's a few issues that he deals with in this book that completely changed my mind. Get this book and be open to what he says. It is so wrought with logic and reason, I defy you to find any reasonable argument against him.

He is not a crazy

Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?

Yes, Ron Paul really is a voice of reason. He take on all the left/right ideas and gives a thoughtful response to them.I found myself rethinking some of my own dogma and seeing his point on some issues. He is truly a new voice in the political system and someone more of us should be paying attention to.

What was the most compelling aspect of this narrative?

Clear ideas about what freedom is and how it has been slowly removed from America.

What about Bob Craig’s performance did you like?

Great insight and even sounds like Paul.

Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?

All of it was moving because of how far away we have moved away from what we should be.

Any additional comments?

Ron Paul is a latter day founding father.
