Filled with extraordinary true ghost stories and surprising details about how ghosts actively participate in our lives, Van Praagh challenges us to question our perceptions and shows how we can live more fully by being open to the spirit world.

Very enjoyable read... quick... easy to start and stop anywhere, as well as fascinating subject matter. I do recommend this book.
Searching and discovering books in the slimmest demographic: adult males.
Fans of Ghost Whisperer.
Disappointment. I was looking for an informative read about ghosts in today's society instead of a six and a half hour plug for Praagh's show.
Not a horrible book, just not accurately represented as what it is.
All loving God.
That we are here to learn to be all loving and are not going to be punished for making mistakes along the way.
He finished it, lol.
That when you die there is no pain and you feel free.
I have enjoyed many of James Van Praagh books. I like the subject he writes about.
Mr. Van Praagh's focus here is to explain how HE perceives the world of ghosts around him. It's a little self-important, and he's not the best narrator. The last 1/3 of the book is info about how to become psychically grounded and what you need to go "ghost-hunting." If you are looking for individual ghost stories, (like I was), there aren't too many to be found in this book.
I can't say the number of times I had to stop the audio because something was said that really struck home. I used to have a dream often as a child that was disturbing to me. It wasn't until after I "read" this book that I dug a little deeper and discovered how on the mark my recurring dream was about something I could not have known about as a 5 to 6 year old. It made the hair on the back of my neck stand up.
I am a believer in the supernatural. I believe that there are people who are given the gift of being able to communicate with those who have passed. But this guy is NUTS. I had never heard of him, and thought the book sounded interesting. The stuff he says is SO out there, as if he knows exactly from the minute we are born to the minute we are reincarnated what happens, how it happens and why. I went along with it until he started talking about Abraham Lincoln coming to him with a group of others to help support him in his mission. The dude is so full of himself, and full of something else that I dare not say...I hate that I gave this fraud a dime of my money or a minute of my listening time. He is the type of fake that gives naysayers an example of absolute nonsense.
After telling my friend about the LUNACY I was listening to, she told me she had heard of the guy and that she had seen him and felt the same way. Apparently he is famous, but clearly as a sideshow freak. God bless him, he's making a ton of money.
DON'T WASTE YOUR MONEY. Not even interesting as total fiction.

Yes, I have as well. I liked it.
James' uncanny accuracy.
Yes. I had trouble turning it off many times.
James Van Praagh should have left out things such as the mention of the caliber of restaurants he'd eaten at, The cost of the wine, Champagne ect. Otherwise a good story.
I have read similar books on the subject of spirits that surround us and how they may influence our lives. This one hits on important points that directly pertain to daily living without trying to convince or hard sell the concept but to merely "teach". It helps to have a genuine belief in this kind of thing or at the very least, an open mind to the possibility that ghost do exist and are there to guide and assist. I especially enjoyed the chapter on the different levels of spirit guides and also the chapter on how to protect yourself from the daily negativity and evil that exists in the world around us.
I haven't listened to Lloyd James before, but thoroughly enjoyed his clear, strong voice. It is very easy on the ears.
It's a book you may want to take in short increments as there is a lot to take in and digest. Especially if your desire is to increase your knowledge and skill at becoming aware of the present and the other dimensions that exist around us. This book also takes the time to illustrate many steps in honing your intuitive gifts.
This book is very interesting. It is told in many stories but they are stories you can identify with. I like the way it tells the story of James Van Praagh's life. This book gives you a lot to think about.
I think Lloyd James sounds a little bit like James Van Praagh. I would have loved to hear James Van Praagh tell the story himself.
I just bought another book by James Van Praagh and I hope it is as good.
