Publisher's summary

The demon is a mob, and the mob is demonic. The Democratic Party activates mobs, depends on mobs, coddles mobs, publicizes and celebrate mobs - it is the mob.

Sweeping in its scope and relentless in its argument, Demonic explains the peculiarities of liberals as standard groupthink behavior. To understand mobs is to understand liberals.

Good - But Not as Good as Treason

I will always compare Coulter's work to Treason, which I believe is her best. This may be somewhat unfair to her, but I doubt she would cry about being treated unfairly. Demonic is still very good and worth reading. I may even read it again (which is probably the best compliment I can give to an author for her work; I've read Treason at least three times). Also, I am always frustrated when authors record abridged audio versions of their books and have someone else record an unabridged version. If Coulter (and other authors who do this) don't have the time or desire to record the whole book, then it would be nice to have the option to hear her read her version with the second reader's recording filling in the abridged parts.

Blame it on Paris

The French are to blame first, then the Democratic Party according to AC.

This is an excellent history on the French Revolution and the revolutions that followed. There is a history on the American Revolution and how it differed from the FR. There is a lot on Mobs and mob mentality. These ideas and explanations alone are reason enough to buy the book.

AC is very entertaining, and very informative. It sounds as if a lot of research was done in order to write this book. Listening to the history was erudite. Evidently your not going to get this type of history lesson in our schools or universities.

AC's arrogance and all or nothing blame is the main problem. In placing blame she often contradicts herself, even in the same chapter. I believe she should also point out that she is talking about Liberal Elite, not the everyday hard working democrats. I am married to a democrat and she is not the evil, demonic person Coulter paints her. On the other hand Democratic Leaders are suspect. I was a Republican for years, but Bush ruined me on that. I now believe that there is not much difference between the two. Either party will do what it takes to be in power.

I think if you are a strong Democrat you do not want to buy this book, I believe it will probably just piss you off. If AC, Rush Limbaugh and Glen Beck could all be less arrogant and so 100% sure of themselves they would do better for there cause, but they may not have as many listeners or sell as many books.
Preaching to the crowd sells books and gets ratings.

AC is entertaining and very informative. I enjoyed the book and learned about the FR , AR and mobs and how mobs work. Anytime I can learn and be entertained is a plus.

Excellent Coverage on the French Revolution

I thought it was as vivid as you can get...great points and learned a lot about the French Revolution; even stories that happened in America. Thanks Ann.

Read your own book

Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?

Yes. Ann Coulter is worth reading. She is a public figure and her voice inflections are well known. She should read her own books.

Who was your favorite character and why?

This is a book of commentary. There is no character but the mob.

How did the narrator detract from the book?

Her voice was too soft and too light to read Ann Coulter. She could not get the sardonic inflection in her voice to put over the stark sarcasm of the author.

What’s the most interesting tidbit you’ve picked up from this book?

I haven't yet fiish the book. Ann Coulter, read your own books.

Any additional comments?

I probably will not buy another audible book by Ann Coulter until she reads it herself.

Decent Book

This narrator mispronounces words and appears to know nothing of conservative ideas. She is the WORST EVER!

If you are a democrat you should read this.

Great Book - All you have to do is be an independent thinker. Don't just go along with the mob, think for your self! Quit being a hater today! Give freedom a chance, it is life changing.

If you are considering buying this book, stop considering and just do it. If you are afraid it will change your thinking in some way - be courageous. Freedom is important and once you are tricked into losing it, you will never get it back.

Don't be afraid of Ann... She wont hurt you.

You Must Listen to This!!!

As usual, Ann Coulter does a great job!! This was reccommended to me by a friend and I am sooo glad I bought!! I downloaded it to my IPOD & listened to it as I worked in my yard, I laughed so hard during some of it that I'm sure my neighbors think I'm crazy! This was great. It has left me wanting to learn more about the French Revolution as I don't remember hearing these things before. This is a MUST listen to book. Ms Coulter does a great job reading it and I always think it is better when the author reads the book. Thank you, Ms Coulter; keep them coming!!!

Timely, a must listen.

What did you love best about Demonic?

Undeniable evidence to back her thesis. I have been doing my own research into some of the facts she uses to support her argument. She is absolutely correct each time. I would like to fact check the entire book, but I'll have to buy a hard copy because there is so much. Not a problem, she is an author worth supporting.

Who was your favorite character and why?

There are no "characters," but Ann's writing style is hilarious and insightful.

Which scene was your favorite?

The French Revolution is extremely interesting and frightening. It sounded like what would happen if Occupy Wall Street got its way. I also liked the discussion of pre WWII Germany. I have been doing my own research into this subject to find out how the Nazi party rose to power. Interesting fact: preWWII German government was trying to stimulate their economy by borrowing massive amounts of money from other countries and using it on social programs for the German people. Right before the collapse of their currency, they were spending more on each citizen than any country in the history of the world. Sound familiar?

If you were to make a film of this book, what would be the tag line be?

Mass Hysteria

Any additional comments?

Great book. I loved her final conclusions. Especially the end where she calls conservatives to task for wimping when the mob gets violent. She is exactly right about the violent tendencies Liberals exhibit. A family member of mine saw something I wrote about the RNC. He immediately wrote in response, "racist $#!* bags!" I rest my case. My only gripe about the audiobook is the reader, she would be better reading a romance novel.

A Bit Disappointing

What did you like about this audiobook?

I've always been a big Ann Coulter fan - primarily because of her incisive wit, which she deftly melds with scholarship and an overarching theme. While a respectable work, Demonic fell somewhat short in the scholarship category. Her overall theme, is that the left historically expresses itself in the form of a mob, drawing almost exclusively on the work of Gustave Le Bon. I felt that the cogent points that could be made were fairly well made early on in the book. As the book moves forward from these early chapters, it begins to become less interesting as it continues to rehash topics already adequately covered.

I felt that Demonic started interesting and strong, and finished weak and repetitive. As I listened, I began to think

How has the book increased your interest in the subject matter?

Yes, especially given the

Does the author present information in a way that is interesting and insightful, and if so, how does he achieve this?

I think Coulter's analysis of Le Bon's work on the psychology of

What did you find wrong about the narrator's performance?

Elizabeth White's narration shines in Demonic as it has in her work with previous Coulter works. Indeed, White reads Coulter even better than Coulter! She successfully translates Coulter's feisty and combatively entertaining style, as she transmits her wit.

Convincing arguments overshadowed by sarcasm

I'm not sure why I would have expected anything other than dripping sarcasm and name-calling from Ann Coulter, but the content and reviews convinced me to use one of my precious credits on this book.

My interest in the topics Ann covers, particularly the French Revolution and the history of mob mentality and it's demonic influence on society, convinced me to give it a try. But her tone and overall ugliness toward her political enemies throughout the book is off-putting and offensive. And, I agree with her on the substance and her conclusions! Her arguments would be far more effective without her constant demeaning comments.

Many liberals are unable to see that they're succumbing to mob mentality foisted on them (by the media and democrat leaders) through emotional manipulation. But I can't imagine this book would convince them of anything other than "Coulter is a jerk." Her style is combative and ugly. There's a lot of good information in this book but it is so offensively dished out as to backfire to all but the most vitriolic partisans.

For someone who claims to be a Christian, Coulter has a funny way of showing it.
