"Astonishing." (Daily Mail)
"Compelling." (Evening Standard)
Absolutely. It's great to re-read/listen to good books to refresh your memory.
Malcolm Gladwell thoroughly covers the material and his narration is just perfect.
I loved the section on body language and Paul Eckman's work.
As always, Malcolm Gladwell entertains and inspires! The world would not be the same without him.
Yes! Great performance by Malcolm, excellently read and a different and intriguing concept
Chapters 5 & 6 stood out for me and really tied the book together with great studies on Coca cola, Pepsi, The Amadou Diallo shooting and musician 'Kenna'
The case study of Amadou Diallo was excellent.
Not a Life changer but a solid concept and idea that does help you consciously change your bad thinking habits.. Recommended but not a MUST HAVE for me.
I did not read the print version.
The subject matter contained a lot of ideas that were completely new to me.
Malcolm Gladwell is passionate about his ideas, and this comes over clearly in his reading.
Important observations about first impressions
Great book, as other books from same author. Makes you think about how decisions are made in our world, and how they affect us. My only constraint towards a five star rating is that some statistics deserved more details; mere averages without mentioning deviation can be misleading, specially when values are close.
"Malcolm Gladwell is awesome!"
I love Malcolm Gladwell's work and this is no exception - he's a wonderful writer (and, it turns out, a great narrator too). It's a little scary to discover how quickly we snap to judge situations and people, but the experiments and research he uses to demonstrate this phenomenon is compelling and enlightening. Highly recommended if you have even a passing an interest in psychology - whether in your business or personal life.
"Similar to a few other books I have listened to"
I thought the book was ok.
I felt that there are similar books out there which presented the same insights, but probably were better.
"Not his best"
While I enjoyed blink, if did not hold a candle to outliers of the tipping point. Still worth a read
"this is a great read!"
highly recommend this audio because malcolm reads it so well. looking forward to reading more of his books.
"Insight into the unconscious"
Loved this intelligent yet uncomplicated recounting of very complex subject matter. Fascinating and kept me engaged to the very end.
"Very long winded"
The concepts were interesting but often the point was laboured for hours it got quit tedious towards the end.
"Did I miss something"
Or could this have been summarised in about two pages ..... The premise I agree with but talk about labouring a point ....
"Insightful and couldn't put it down"
Love the stories of small moments but big leanings. Gladwell is my hero and dream dinner guest! Blink or you'll miss it
"Insightful & Amazing"
Useful and helpful, makes you think! Recommended. Malcolm has great voice as well which is at the same time calming and gets your attention
Insightful, facinating and through provoking
I particularly enjoyed the link to the Rip, the army Marine and his use of the congnative processes in battle
It kept me rivited, very interesting
I recommend this book to anyone, I wasn't particularly interested in the subject matter and took a punt on this book and have not regretted it.
