Publisher's summary

,p>Greg Palast has spent the last 30 years getting the goods on corporate con men and political hucksters. Now he and his special guests cut through the TV news babytalk in Armed Madhouse. Armed with more than 50 classified documents and confidential memos, Palast brings you the stories not allowed in The New York Times, including:

  • Before invading, George Bush didn't have a secret plan to seize Iraq's oil, he had two. Palast shows you both.
  • In "Who's Afraid of Osama Wolf?", Palast reveals the horror and humor of the War on Terror.
  • In "The Network", Palast gives you the skinny on the new global order, and pushes Thomas Friedman over the edge of his Flat World.
  • It was Palast, for BBC TV, who first uncovered how Jeb Bush and Katherine Harris stole Election 2000. Now he tells you that Kerry won in 2004, and that 2008 is already fixed.
  • Who drowned New Orleans? Palast names names, and adds some suggestions for fighting the new Class War.

Greg Palast speaks truth to power the only way you can, by letting the facts speak for themselves. Get the straight story on what today's self-appointed Masters of the Universe have in store for you.

Laugh and be mad at the same time

Greg Palast is the only author I can think of that makes you laugh while he is telling you stuff that makes smoke come out of your ears. This book in print is wonderful but to hear him read the book is awesome.

Speaking Truth in the Face of Power

Palast's reporting for the BBC of the Bush/NeoCon crime family are well documented and concise. The humor injected lightens the mood of the otherwise depressing/disgusting subject matter of lies and deception perpetrated on the American people and the world at large.

Everyone who voted for Bush needs to read this book. For the rest of us, it confirms what we already suspected or knew.

This is an excellent piece of straight up journalism. The world needs more journalists like Palast instead of the those in the talking head media we have today who are afraid to investigate the real story, as ugly as it may be.

Highly recommended.

Finally, the REAL reasons for Iraq!

If you could sum up Armed Madhouse in three words, what would they be?

Awesome, unique, brilliant

What was the most compelling aspect of this narrative?

The way the author logically pieced together the story while backing up his statements w/ facts from numerous sources

What does Greg Palast bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?

Real passion, anger, and empathy!

Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?

The facts re; how much power is held by so few and those in power's lack of empathy, decency, and morality. All the powerful had was a lust for more money and even more power.

Any additional comments?

WOULD YOU PLEASE TELL THE PUBLISHER THAT THERE ARE MANY OF US WHO WANT TO SEE "Vulture's Picnic" IN AND AUDIO FORMAT. Palast REALLY comes alive in his audio presentations. Also, thanks for sponsoring "The Majority Report" in however way you do it. I discovered both Naomi Klein and Greg Palast on either "The Majority Report" or on Sam Seder's other podcast and radio show "Ring of Fire" I am a lousy reader and coupled with that fact, I do some monotonous work at times, Audible sure has made my life a whole lot more interesting and fun. Also I chatted on line w/ David from your company this AM and he was more than helpful. THANKS AGAIN FOR ALL THAT ALL OF YOU DO! Sincerely; Tom Ehrenberg, Eagle, CO.

inciteful

I liked the material but wished most of it were not true and was just fiction. I have followed this authors reports and have found him to be credible. I didn't like some of the voice acting as it tended to detract from the content of the book.
