Publisher's summary

It happens to all of us: You're minding your own business, when some idiot informs you that guns are evil, the Prius will save the planet, or the rich have to finally start paying their fair share of taxes.

Just go away! you think to yourself -- but they only become more obnoxious. Your heart rate quickens. You start to sweat. You can't get away. Your only hope is this book.

Glenn Beck, author of the number-one New York Times best sellers An Inconvenient Book and Glenn Beck's Common Sense, has stumbled upon the secret formula to winning arguments against people with big mouths but small minds: knowing the facts. And this book is full of them.

The next time your idiot friends tell you how gun control prevents gun violence, you'll tell them all about England's handgun ban. When they tell you that we should copy the UK's health care system, you'll recount the horrifying facts you heard here. And the next time an idiot tells you that vegetable prices will skyrocket without illegal workers, you'll stop saying "No, they won't" and you'll start saying, "actually, eliminating all illegal labor will cause us to spend just $8 a year more on produce."

Idiots can't be identified through voting records, they can be found only by looking for people who hide behind stereotypes, embrace partisanship, and believe that bumper-sticker slogans are a substitute for common sense. If you know someone who fits the bill, then Arguing with Idiots will help you silence them once and for all with the ultimate weapon: the truth.

Pleasant surprise

Glenn may be clown, but this book has real substance. It is well researched and presents his case for government abiding by Our Constitution backed up with the facts.

The Struggle Against Idiocy

Glenn Beck's appeal is in the conversational style that invites the interjection of his self depreciating remarks and cutting comments. It's amazing that the book is as intelligible as it is entertaining and thought provoking considering the form it's written in. Thanks, Glenn for the great listen and history lesson found within this audio book!

Arguing with Idiots (Unabridged)

This book provides detailed examples of how past situations have been handled and what took place.
I found this book to be funny and full of information that is easily understood, easily fact-checked. I found the book easy to read. I liked the attention to detail. Don't forget Glenn Beck is also a comedian and it show in this book. Conservatives will love it while the left liberal will not.

Everyone should read this book - Especially if you want to understand what's really going on behind the politics and rhetoric

Everyone should read this book. After reading, or should I say having it read to me with narrator putting the right emphasis on each part, you'll understand what's going on in America and around the world in general. If you don't know your history, you are bound to repeat it. This book helped me see American Capitalism in a totally different light and made me appreciate the US Constitution. Real Talk - If you really want to be aware on how you can make a difference in your city, state and country - read/listen to this book. And besides, this book had me laughing out loud all through it. Glen Beck is HILARIOUS 😂 I never thought I would say this but "Thank you, Glen Beck" 😊

Outstanding

This has to be one of Glenn's best book's to date. With Glenn you either love him or hate him, so if your part of the hate him crowd the books not for you. If however, you are with the love him group this book is dead on.

Good book as long as you agree with Beck

Glen beck made the book amusing to hear along with his associates. The break in narration was fun and made it very easy to listen to. It would defiantly be a tough book to hear if you didn't agree with his small government philosophies. For me the book was frustrating because while I agreed with his statements, it was a very bitter pill to hear all the things that are wrong with government and how it has become misdirected. It also is unfortunately a bit outdated as it is written just as Obama is taking office in his first term and since then much has changed.

Simply put, great to listen to, a bit dated on facts, and I wouldn't read this unless you already agree with his thoughts or are willing to be open minded. It speaks down to anyone else in case that wasn't already implied by the title.

good book, but not for audio

This book has great information, but I would much rather go back and look up the points in a book, when the situation arises.
It has many historical facts that support each argument, and its impossible to remember all of them, when just listening to them.
I wish I had bought the book instead

Classic Glenn Beck

"Arguing with Idiots" an aptly titled book in which Glenn Beck perfectly voices the part of the liberal "straw man" and has his co-narrators bat down his inane arguments (surprise, Glenn plays the idiot). Essentially this is more of his daily show and if you like his show you're sure to like this book. Glenn's topics seem to be most of the right wing talking points from Reagan to now, but "why in god's name?", has he left out "trickle down economics", my all time favorite (tear running down my cheek without the aid of Vick's VapoRub)). Seriously I found it juvenile, sophomoric, absent any pretense of intellectual honesty (just like his show). If this is your thing, then Idiots enjoy (don't hurt yourselves).

Only the most conservative american can enjoy this

Poorly built facts and very very conservative view on things. If you hate liberals and anything that even remotely reflects some socialistic views or ideas, if you firmly believes that socialism equals communism and stupidity- then this book is for you.
For me, this was a true waste of credits.
