Publisher's summary

The world is a mess. It seems that everywhere listeners turn, there's another problem:

  • Iran is developing nuclear capabilities.
  • Public schools actually seem to be making our kids dumber.
  • Charlie Sheen has a hit sitcom.
  • Obesity is a national epidemic.
  • The divorce rate is rising faster than gas prices.
  • Really: Charlie Sheen has a hit sitcom!
  • And people are more interested in voting for the next American Idol than American President.

This just barely scratches the surface. Sadly, there's no shortage of problems - what is needed now are solutions. If only there was a man who could simplify things, cut through the rhetoric, and fix everything. Then, if he was just able to put all of that insight into something that people could buy...in a store and online...man, that would great.

    Wait a minute!

An Inconvenient Book is that very something: the one source for the Real Story behind the problems that seemed too big and complicated to solve (until now) plus their common-sense solutions. Think of it as a Hints from Heloise that's less "getting red wine out of your carpet" and more "keeping illegal aliens out of your country".

    Man is a Visionary!

Would you listen to An Inconvenient Book again? Why?

Yup, to remind me of the things that are relevant over and over in today's world.

Who was your favorite character and why?

Non-fiction, no characters, but messages about many topics of interest in today's changing world

What about Glenn Beck’s performance did you like?

Glenn Beck, while many don't agree with him, he is an experienced Radio host, so reading his own book just makes perfect sense and allows the listener to clearly tell his true inflection in the material

    Any additional comments?

As mentioned, many disagree with Glenn Beck's views, but that should not stop one from this title. It is a mostly humorous look at the human condition, sure, from a more conservative then liberal view point, but most will find something to relate to and many may
find new things that had not thought about concerning how they see the world.
Is his science accurate? The best way to find out is to check it out for yourself. He gives
pointers to his data (in those areas of the book where science is the topic). Are his religious views everyones? No, but if you really can't stand Christian views, then skip those
sections, there is still plenty to enjoy!

    Great listen!

As usual with Beck, I find myself engaged and alert and also highly entertained by his books. The information he presents is eye opening and often shocking, but his delivery is hilarious! I listened to this book at work and found myself frequently busting out in laughter! I highly recommend this book to anyone who can handle the truth!

    This Book Is Atrociously BAD!!!

I listen to a lot of books on audible and love this site, but this book is an embarrassment to me as an American and should be to Glenn Beck. Who is this guy? Who died and made him king? I could go on and on with his bogus statistics and ridiculous criticisms but if he calls himself American, I consider him as un-American as they get. He is bombastic, rude, overzealous and just plain high on himself. I wouldn't recommend this book to my worst enemy but I would recommend Glenn Beck to the Taliban - maybe they could judge him like he judges everyone else. How anyone could write anything positive about this book is beyond me!

    Underewhelmed

I am generally a fan of Glen Beck. However, this book reveals him to be shallow, petty and narrow minded. I only finished listening to it because I paid for it. Don' make the same mistake.

    Glen beck at his best

One incoherent rant after another. So hard to listen to. The book could have been reduced to a one page bullet list…like his mind.

    Not even close

A book full of rants based on the authors view, some of which are ill informed, others which are highly personal and only applicable to his situation.

The Global warming section was downright good, but the rest of the book was not even close.

Next he jumps to marriage, and thinks every marriage is like his. Then switches to advice for teenagers, as if this is a big book for teenagers. But this brings up another point - He doesnt seem to know who his audience is. The book is full of preaching but without credentials, and he changes who he preaches to. Fathers, Teenagers, Environmentalists.. who is this book written for?

    The description is horribly inaccurate...
"The world is a mess. It seems that everywhere listeners turn, there's another problem"

He doesnt discuss the world's problems. Except for the chapter on global warming, all the issues are squarely American issues. Readers outside the US will be left confused, and bored.

"If only there was a man who could simplify things, cut through the rhetoric, and fix everything."

Author does none of that. States an American problem, then his opinion on it after he first rants, then preaches.

Start next chapter, repeat for a different topic and different audience.
