Publisher's summary

The world is a mess. It seems that everywhere listeners turn, there's another problem:

  • Iran is developing nuclear capabilities.
  • Public schools actually seem to be making our kids dumber.
  • Charlie Sheen has a hit sitcom.
  • Obesity is a national epidemic.
  • The divorce rate is rising faster than gas prices.
  • Really: Charlie Sheen has a hit sitcom!
  • And people are more interested in voting for the next American Idol than American President.

This just barely scratches the surface. Sadly, there's no shortage of problems - what is needed now are solutions. If only there was a man who could simplify things, cut through the rhetoric, and fix everything. Then, if he was just able to put all of that insight into something that people could buy...in a store and online...man, that would great.

    Wait a minute!

An Inconvenient Book is that very something: the one source for the Real Story behind the problems that seemed too big and complicated to solve (until now) plus their common-sense solutions. Think of it as a Hints from Heloise that's less "getting red wine out of your carpet" and more "keeping illegal aliens out of your country".

    Waste of Time and Money

If only I could get my $$ and time back from listening to this book. 6.5 hours of my life I'll never get back. Beck claims to have the answers to the biggest problems facing America today in this book. How does tricking your wife into thinking you watched the "bonnet movie" so she will have sex with you affect the well being of the United States?? This guy is a joke and its so sad that people actually take him seriously! The over the top masculinity is so annoying, it was like listening to a 6 hour Budweiser commercial or watching boys smash cans on there heads for hours.

    An Inconvenient Book

Glen Beck knows how to hold your interest with the truth and his good humor. It is a book that could be read and reread

    Scary Ending

Glenn's self-read audiobook was great, following along with his ADD-fast speech and occasional 'oh look a butterfly' distraction moments throughout. Most is comfortable and familiar, but with more depth than a half-hour TV show. However, the last chapter was a shocker, especially scary -- relating to the illegal immigration situation and his research (maybe I just missed that in the newspapers? I think that's the point!).

I heartily recommend this book; I'll leave the surprise to the listener to figure out.

    This Book Is Atrociously BAD!!!

I listen to a lot of books on audible and love this site, but this book is an embarrassment to me as an American and should be to Glenn Beck. Who is this guy? Who died and made him king? I could go on and on with his bogus statistics and ridiculous criticisms but if he calls himself American, I consider him as un-American as they get. He is bombastic, rude, overzealous and just plain high on himself. I wouldn't recommend this book to my worst enemy but I would recommend Glenn Beck to the Taliban - maybe they could judge him like he judges everyone else. How anyone could write anything positive about this book is beyond me!

    very entertaining

I like it when an author reads his own book. Glenn Beck is very entertaining and makes you look at things in a different light. Since I am not much on reading or listening to non-fiction books I enjoyed this one very much. You don't have to agree with him on the political front to enjoy this book.

Tell us what you really think!?!

He doesn't mind speaking his mind does he?!? The only problem with that is that he tends to go overboard with his dramatizations. Even though he admits he's a pure blood conservative, he certainly has a flare for melodrama. For me, living in Australia, I can see why he'd work well as a radio DJ, but give him a soap box and he'll jump on it. He is funny in many parts and he does use some good statistics, but even he admits: "Statistics don't lie, but liars use statistics". This is good for opposing views backed up with evidence, and it is quite funny throughout, but I have to say the "ADD moments" get very frustrating. But this one is certainly better than his 2nd one - "Arguing With Idiots"

    Gotta love this guy.

Beck deals with serious issues giving well thought out solutions while maintaing the the edgy sarcasm and humor that has made his radio and tv shows huge hits. Beck fan or not this is a must read.

    Beck is funny

Beck is a weirdo. Sometimes he makes sence but sometimes he's way off. In this book he makes sence he tells it like it is. I gotta hand it to him he's his own man. I think eighty percent of America would disagree with this book. But his thought process is entertaining as heck..

    Eye opening facts

Great factoids, but the book is probably a better read then a listen. Glen reads the book as if he were on his radio show, and so the book is best listenned to in several sessions, rather then emersing yourself in it for long periods of time. Glen wearies the ear after awile. Also some of the facts you might want to write down, and that is difficult with an audio book. I recommend reading it rather then listenning to it.
