A commonsense and optimistic manifesto for our future, by one of America's most beloved conservatives....
Just in time for the run-up to the 2012 election, the best-selling author of Do the Right Thing and A Simple Christmas takes his vision even further, offering clear solutions to the key issues facing our nation in the Obama era.
Politicians, lobbyists, and so-called experts spend too much time arguing and focusing on the differences that divide us. As a result, those in Washington are obsessed with the win or loss of their side and not with actually solving problems. Huckabee shows how we can return to our roots-the simple founding principles that created America and made our nation strong-to build a more promising future.
For example, instead of a 10.000-page tax code that not even CPAs can understand, we need a simple, fair, transparent way Obamacare monstrosity, we need a simple way to help Americans get good health care without bankrupting our future.
Approachable as ever, Huckabee presents a plan for our country that will resonate across America.

Every government official, state and federal, should read this book and consider it mandatory reading, this should be included in family government too.
Yes! A well written discussion of what is wrong with our country, and how a reasonable man would fix it.

The title is misleading! Mike Huckabee presents a well thought out analysis of what's wrong with our government. However, he takes no political risks and offers no plan for "A Simple Government". It's my impression that he does not think out of the box or has the vision, the fire and the guts to be a great leader.
I used to like this guy but this book ruins it completely. He starts by saying how he is going to be nice and not bash the president then 5 pages later starts in with it. He is simply checking off the list to be considered right wing enough. The book bashes "amnesty" for illegals even though a book he wrote a few years ago recommended the same approach. I want my money back. Unless you are an extremely religious person or a huge Fox news fan, avoid this book. If you love Glen Beck and the fixed news channel then you might like this crazy book.
