There's the Freedom of Information Act, and then there's Ventura's way. The official spin on numerous government programs is flat-out bull, according to Jesse Ventura. In this incredible collection of actual government documents, Ventura, the ultimate nonpartisan truth-seeker, proves it beyond any doubt. He and Dick Russell walk listeners through 63 of the most incriminating programs to reveal what really happens behind the closed doors. In addition to providing original government data, Ventura discusses what it really means and how regular Americans can stop criminal behavior at the top levels of government and in the media. Among the cases discussed:
What the Department of Defense knows about our food supply but is keeping mum Although these documents are now in the public domain, the powers that be would just as soon they stay under wraps. Ventura's research and commentary sheds new light on what they're not telling you---and why it matters.

Needs to come with a WARNING for this narrator, DO NOT LISTEN TO THIS NARRATOR WHILE DRIVING!!!!!!! My wife woke up and thought I was listening to her Kindle, he can't even pronounce words correctly, the computer voice for the W.O.P.P.E.R. war games computer was easier to understand...
I like Jesse, this is not to berate his book, I just HATE the narrator....
I agree with the low-level ratings here. It's not that the book is bad - it's just bad in audio form. The narrator is great, but how much can you do with, "Government document three seven five Dee Zee Ell, dated January 25 two thousand and sixty five. From Admiral Cosegrove to the chiefs of staff ..." A more traditional book, your eyes just go right past all that. But I can't slight Jesse. Love the guy. Just find a book to flip through (PS - I love you, Audible)
Really enjoy listening to these books sure am glad I was introduced to Audible. Best dollar I've ever spent.
As always Jesse Ventura does a great job of documenting everything he writes about.
Hard to listen too only because I love my country and it saddens me to learn of the evil that is done by its political arm. Gives good cause to "watch" the government and question everything it does. Also gives you the sense that if you don't vote you aint got a bitch!
Great information, but I'd suggest getting the hard copy. The best thing about this one, as opposed to the conspiracy book, is that he includes actual documents to look at yourself. The paper copy is a good reference guide. But the information is still important.
As revealing as this book may be, getting to do something about what Jesse Ventura suggests needs to be done in this country for greater transparency is perhaps not as difficult as listening to this audio. I have over twenty years of listening to books on tape and this is, by far, is the most excrutingly painful one to listen to. Each document is read, with all the boring bureaucratic language, and almost with every comma and period, in a boring tone of voice; it was so painful to listen to that I couldn't finish it; I would rather sit at the dentist's chair and get a root canal done, at least I would know it would done quicker.
This is an audiobook that is probably better to read than listen to. The oft mentioned "redacted" and then George K. Wilson's monotone (almost mechanical or computer program) voice makes for a hard listen. The information is right on and topical but like I said its better to read it.
Too much information I was totally angry with US government and what they did. the fact that there is documented evidence is crazy good. Loss of election and the manipulation of our Free or Democratic system is sicking. Very sad to know that the rich or that the financially affluent are in so powerful. I had been a supporter of Bush One and Two, now I feel like I got "played". Who is on our side?
That is exactly what this audio book is ... a long droning reading of 63 complex government documents ... not pleasant and difficult to follow/interpret.
This has become the most boring book I have and will ever hear. The reader Mr. MonoTone, makes it unbearable. The way the book is laid out has alot of documents, with each person noted at each sentence..THERE IS NO REASON the reader has to read it word for word somethings are implied...Ughh..I want a refund. I could not bore myself to sleep anymore...I gave it 3 hours of my life I will never get back. Only way this book can be saved is if Jesse reads it with his energy and leave some of the implied stuff out! Save your money, or buy it and read it, you can skip the implied stuff!
don't get me wrong...I love Jesse Ventura and his books but all this conspiracy stuff is taking away his credibility. I would rather have his opinion of these documents and research behind them rather than listening to someone read these boring documents. Kind of a lazy effort and it shows.
