Publisher's summary

All he ever wanted was to matter to someone.

What he didn’t know was that he did matter to someone.

Someone that worried about him every single day that he was gone.

***

Malachi Gabriel Gnocchi was missing for two years. Thanks to a mission gone wrong, not only had he been captured, but his best friend along with his fellow teammates had been taken, too.

He spent two years in hell, hoping and praying that one day he’d get to go home.

And one day he does. Only, he isn’t the same person that left. Every single thing that made him Malachi is no more.

***

Sierra started writing to soldiers overseas through the soldier pen pal program when she was in high school. Years later, she had no idea that the one soldier that she’d been paired up with in the very beginning would be the one man that would change her world eight years down the road.

When the letters from her soldier stopped, she knew that something bad had happened.

When they started back up again two years after the last letter, she thought that someone was playing a joke on her.

Only, that joke wasn’t a joke at all.

The man on the other end of those letters is a man that’s dying slowly from the inside out.

He’s a living, breathing mess and there’s only one thing she can do to help him.

Write him back and hope that she can bring him back from the edge.

Great story and series!

Love this series! Repeating characters and story lines keep these families real to readers. If you love feeling like you know or can picture these men and women of swat and MC’s, etc. this series is for you!

PURE AWESOMENESS!

Don’t miss this one. The wait was worth it.

I was a bit mad with Sierra’s family for a bit. But as usual, family squabbles get resolved eventually. And they get their wonderful Happily Ever After.

I won’t leave any spoilers and I will just say to go listen to this audiobook!

Malachi (Gabriel) & Sierra

I have waited so long to hear this story and I was somewhat disappointed. The story was actually really good. My disappointment came from feeling like it could have been a lot longer of a story. I wasnt happy with the ending at all. I would like to have listened to Malachi's detailed account of when the baby was born especially with him being so understanding in the beginning about the baby. Instead, it was a "6 weeks later our son was born." That was a horrible ending for me and it was too short. I loved Gram. She was funny. I was disappointed in Sammy and Mercy's reaction to Sierra being pregnant and their treatment of her. Also, Malachi's parents were horrible people. I felt really bad for him. I loved how Malachi loved Sierra. It felt so real and was so sweet. There was only one sex scene and somewhat of another at the end. I would recommend this book even if I was not happy with the ending. I love LLV! There's just something about her books that just makes me feel good and you feel like you are living that life with them.

Malachi and Sierra

As always Lani Lynn Vale has brought us an exciting, sweet, endearing, and thrilling story. Malachi and Sierra have know each other for a long time but did not really know that they knew each other. They had been pen pals for years. I loved that their letters were incorporated throughout this story. I absolutely adored this story.

Awwww Laughter thru tears 😭

Sniffle Sniffle I really thought I went thru the ringer with Jimmy and Hastings story, but nope! this one nearly did me in . If you can get by the mechanical male narrators voice the story itself is absolutely beautiful, so don’t get to irritated and finish it, will be so worth it.

Sadly disappointed ...

I have loved every installment in this series so far and I have really been looking forward to Malachi’s story. So I was very sad that M. Maddux was a bit robotic sounding irritating my ear and not allowing me to relax into Malachi’s chapters. (anxiety & issues with sounds) The story itself felt a bit like Swiss cheese good tasty stuff but full of holes. Leaving me laughing from the humor, trying to figure out the bad guy but feeling confused overall? It wasn’t what I was expecting and it wasn’t on par with the previous 10. But 1 out of 11 is not that bad so I’m not going to shred it. Still love LL Vale and I’m still gonna read her books!!
